Not only does it suck that so many dogs are on Detroits streets, but that people like sweet Homer are living without basic needs like running water and electricity. Until those mismanaging these cities are removed these problems will not be solved.... In this day and age people should not have to resort to living on the streets or in their homes without basic needs, it's wrong on so many levels. And don't think it isn't political, both issues, because both are a direct result of corrupt politics in cities like Detroit, Chicago, all of California, etc..... People need to realize they must change things at the ballot box. And start fighting for themselves, their families and our four legged members of society!!! If I had money I would literally show up and start cleaning... One block at a time.... Thank you for this beautiful pup being saved and all the others...

Yes, we had an opportunity to connect more than we normally can and made several trips to bring food and comfort to Homer. And then we no longer found Homer at this house he was squatting in. We haven't seen him since 2 winters ago. We've looked.

There is a deeper issue here that is really sad. One's first reaction is 'how can people do this?" The stark reality however is that so many of these dogs have been abandoned by people who are in dire straits and who are themselves in need of saving. I look at these abandoned homes, some of them still full of valuables, and they tell a sad tale. The economic situation in the USA is a direct result of a failed system where politicians, banks, and the industrial complex chase after money whilst not giving a damn about the average citizen. No wonder you guys ended up with Trump. It seems he at least offered some light at the end of the tunnel for those who are tired of being lied to by the left and the man stream media in that country. The sad stories about these dogs is just another barometer of how bad things really are. The American dream is indeed dead.

Enrico, you misjudge the impact and timing. To believe what is, will be as bad as it gets, is truly short-sighted. Under Trump the USA and world should know that issues regarding animals and the welfare of human / animal interaction are already in extreme jeopardy - and will get infinitely worse during the Trumpster Fire currently raging out of control across a lobotomized - to - history - society. Between the EPA and interior departments, the death toll of animals large and tiny has been added to in the billions. Not too mention the new attacks on formerly protected species. In Detroit it was less liberal policy than it was conservative business practitioners taking their labor off shore. the devastation to the city was caused by poorly thought out conservative business practice that only served the owners of these businesses. It is false to believe the decline to the city of Detroit was due to liberal policy. It was flight, white, and otherwise. Due to poor economic opportunity.

maybe it should be put an effort to find a decent home for Homer. in that way he will could take care about two dogs and not be an lonely homeless. it's amazing your dog rescue job, but just think about how many homeless people are kind to dogs, them only companions and how better lives they can have if someone will help them to live in a properly house
