You should put a length of 18" DPC along wall and into trough so water coming off roof hits dpc and not the wall and falls into trough and away

I was thinking the same. I’d want to run a continuous flashing all along that vertical wall to prevent overflow and splashing getting behind the gutter. I wonder if a fluid film flashing might work, but given the crumbly nature of the stone, it might not adhere well.

Glad you’ve been able to repair the water problem by installing the large gutter. With all the associated issues that you’ve now fixed as well you should be water tight now. Great job ! 👍🏽😎

The gutter work is just not a fun job. But, I’m sure you are glad it’s done and fingers crossed when it rains the leak is gone for good. When I worked in Italy the local Italians said walking on the tile roofs was best done by always putting your foot across 2 tiles to distribute your weight, which makes sense. I never tried it though, as I’m not fond of heights.

I was wondering how you were going to finish off the end of the gutter pipe. I thought the water would come down the new wall! Didn’t realize it was going the other way to storage! So much progress, now to finish pointing and outside is done!

Quick question Andy and Sharon about your newly added windows in the snug. You made bars for some windows. Are you planning to do this for the snug ones or shutters etc? Keep on keeping on transforming your finca!

We're not sure yet but if anything, shutters. With shutters, we can open the windows for air flow - we can't have mosquito nets as Alfie loves to destroy them :D

We think it was toxic as it turned yellow when touched. Apparently this is bad, so we didn't risk it!

Seeing that lethal looking saw in close proximity to your thumb I was just wondering how far away is the nearest A&E? :-). Great content though. I'm new to your channel and loving it. Loads to catch up on. We've just bought an old (but not so old) house up the coast inland from Alicante. Much to do but nowhere near the project you have.
