Mate I’ve seen hundreds of detectorists KZbin videos over the years, yours is the first one I’ve ever subscribed to . And I’ll tell you why, your a normal bloke who loves detecting and sharing the experience. Not up your own arse, not bragging about whatever machine your using and not kissing anyone’s arse. Keep it up. And the very best of luck out in the fields
@HOPEUSMAXIMUS6 жыл бұрын
Well Graham, thanks very much for that kind comment. It makes all the hard work worth while mate. And your right, I really enjoy detecting and just want to share with the viewers what I experience with the live digs so they see it detected and retrieved out the ground. And thanks for the sub... although nothing has came up yet saying you have? My next video will be out next week and it's got quite a few hammereds (not all mine) and 1 very nice coin I found on a live dig so is defo worth a watch. Cheers.

First time I’ve subbed so I’ve probably done it wrong hahaha. Apologise for the straight talk and language, after 20 odd years on detecting forums with my ‘ghost’ username people got used to the no bollox approach lol. Hope you get as much enjoyment out of our hobby as I still do my friend .
@HOPEUSMAXIMUS6 жыл бұрын
Hi Graham, I agree there... got to call a spade a spade when needs must. lol. So far as subscribing, when you click on subscribe you need to then click on the "bell" icon which will then flag up when I post a future video. So far as me not seeing your name, if you click on your channel photograph you will see the settings icon of your channel (looks like a cog wheel). When you click on that and then click on the "History and Privacy" tab on the left and then some tick boxes will appear. One of those is "KEEP ALL MY SUBSCRIPTIONS PRIVATE" and this needs to be unticked. I will add your name as new subscriber anyway at the start of my next video, (unless you don't want me to do that of course). Cheers.

Cheers Jeff, glad you agree... ring pulls and cow tubes on a video don't do it for me either. I know that's the detecting reality most of the time but I want to see interesting history not tat.

Hi there, thank you for the nice comment and thank you for subscribing to my channel. I scroll my new subscribers names across the screen at the start of each video so your channel name will appear (if that's ok with you of course). My next video will be out in a week or two as I just need to find a couple more interesting items. Thanks again. Keith
@budgetslimmers6976 жыл бұрын
Yes that's fine Keith - although I'm sure none of your viewers are likely to be interested in our channel lol. We are metal detectorists though hence the sub to your channel. We have done a couple of vlogs of digs but nothing of great interest. Our best finds have always been off camera. We really don't get to go out all that often either and tend to stick to the beach more as it's free and permissions are sparse. But it's always great to follow others and drool over other people finds and also learn something along the way. And having watched only a couple of your videos so far I have already learnt something so thanks for that. I will become a regular watcher now. keep up the good work :)
@HOPEUSMAXIMUS6 жыл бұрын
Hiya, I tried the beach when I first started detecting (I had no choice as I had no land permissions lol). The beach is not for me though even though I live very near the coast. My enjoyment is in unearthing the real history surrounding the coins and artefacts that have lain hidden for centuries. I hope I can continue creating quality videos with interesting info for you and the other subscribers to enjoy.

Nice Hunt and great watch Kieth Good to see you out again. Grounds are concrete over here in Norfolk argh ? And that t-shirt Lol Keeps the horses and midges away lol Be Lucky HH
@HOPEUSMAXIMUS6 жыл бұрын
LOL. Yes the ground is rock hard and if a pasture field I go in is a well kept and pretty one, I don't dig there as the filled holes stand out like a sore thumb and looks awful. But if it's what I call a "rough pasture" field and the farmers give the go ahead then I still try and fill in the holes the best I can. And the T-shirt attracts the bloody horses and flies lol..

Any tips on a budget basic metal detector for beginners
@HOPEUSMAXIMUS4 жыл бұрын
Hiya, I don't know your price bracket or if you will be detecting on land, beach or both. However I know that Garrett make good "mid range" detectors that many people say they are pleased with. I would NOT recommend a very base model of any make as basically you get what you pay for and I would advise you go for one in the mid range price bracket. If you are in the UK I know that Regton, who are one of the main UK metal detector retailers, stock many makes of detectors to suit different preferences and price brackets. I would suggest you give them a ring and have a chat to them, ask to speak to Nigel or Marcus and mention my channel name HOPEUS MAXIMUS and tell them I suggested you call them. They are very friendly and knowledgeable and will give you sound advice. I see they have a bundle on offer at the moment for a mid range Garrett Ace 300i @ £299.95. It also comes with an AT Pro Pinpointer (and I would recommend a Pinpointer no matter what anyone says). I will put a link at the bottom of this reply. You can also ask if Regton will give you an extra 10% off by using the discount code "HOPEUS" at the checkout (as mentioned at the start of all my recent videos).Whatever you decide on, make sure you watch relevant videos on KZbin before you buy as there are loads of hints and tips on there. There is always the second hand market but be aware that you will have no guarantee going second hand and watch out for fake copies that are about. At least by buying new from a reputable dealer you will have a guarantee and know that it is the genuine article. Good luck and have fun and please do let me know what you decide on. regton.com/

Cheers for the comments mate. It just so happens I'm looking at changing the gloves I use lol. It's been hard going in the dry hard ground but now the rain has arrived and the crops are up it should improve things.

Stirrup!
@HOPEUSMAXIMUS6 жыл бұрын
It's a spur... There is a difference my friend. Stirrup definition... A stirrup is a light frame or ring that holds the foot of a rider, attached to the saddle by a strap. Spur definition... A spur is a metal tool designed to be worn in pairs on the heels of riding boots for the purpose of directing a horse or ox to move forward or laterally while riding.

@HOPEUSMAXIMUS6 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, your name never came up mate and I have noticed that I may get, for example, 20 " new subscribers" but I may only get 15 actual names that appear... This may be the reason here though - I have read that KZbin users can set their subscriptions to "remain private" (Settings/Privacy). In which case KZbin will not display their username. No worries though mate, I will put your name down and give you a shout out on my next video. Cheers.
