People say Hopsin is corny. I just say he actually keeps it real and doesn't try to be cool, whether it's corny or not.

Their convo about mumble rappers speaks so much facts. Have a rapper who practices the art of rap, has their own style, good lyrics, but gets ignored or doesnt get a lot of cred as he or she should. But a "rapper" who cant pronounciate their words, same flow, same beat, but gets recognition. Like if cancer was music, it would be rap.

Tech could of went Mainstream he didn’t want to sell out. That’s why he’s still underground cause that’s where he wants to be. He goes on tour every year, has his own label and signs artist that he wants too promote. I love Gambino but he was an actor before he showed his rap skills that’s why he’s popular. An Logic is talented but that Everybody album is cheesy and lame in my eyes. I honestly would prefer if Hop stays where he’s at or gets to Techs level and just stays running underground rap. Cause that cheese ball Walt Disney shit Logic doing now is for the birds man.

Hopsin could be the hip hop saviour. He has worked hard since he picked up the mic, he has become a better person during his career it sucks people call him Corny for spitting out the truth about real life situations, and yeh he was jokey, funny type person when he had songs like 'sag my pants', ill mind 4 etc etc and he was still considered Corny for having fun. And nowdays you see these gimmick so called rappers having hair done, jewellery, cars, drugs, and are stupid, and they are not considered corny. Like he referenced on his song 'Nocturnal Rainbows' 'REAL ARTIST'S GET SHELVED, WACK ONES GET FAMOUS' which proves his point about today's hip hop culture, when Hopsin drops his new LP everyone will be in for a ride. would be good to see him collab with Jay Z, Eminem and others in the future.

I love Hopsin's music, but I don't agree with the saviour part. Hip Hop doesn't need a saviour. It is alive and going well. The issue is that people need to be educated on what Hip Hop is, because mumble rappers aren't Hip Hop. Once people gain an understanding that Rap and Hip Hop are 2 completely different things then people will understand that Hip Hop is in a much better state than a lot of people think it is.

I grinned so hard when he said "I take it as a challenge. Hopsin is the dumbest motherfucker of em all." I love seeing this down to earth, laid back, super chill side of him. I never really looked at him as though Hopsin was an alter ago, ala Slim Shady. A lot of his early work never made that separation. His recent transparency and separation of his real life and career has made it easier to see how calculated his choices have been. I always took him for a reactionary, but he's put a ton of thought into his future and his career decisions. He knows when to go with the flow and when to kick off and go in his own direction. I have so much more respect from him knowing there's so much more to his intelligence than just his incredible lyricism. And above all that, he's a hard working dude. Got a lot of love for him, not just as an artist, but also as a person.

I don't understand why we cant have different sub-genres in hip-hop. Like lyrical, street, "mumble", trap, pop, etc. I don't see why people have to hate on other sub-genres because they don't like their music. Let Yachty, Uzi, Pump, etc do what they wanna do, they obviously have fans so they're doing SOMETHING right. I like a bit of everything, and think that no sub-genre is killing hip-hop as a whole.

What hopsin said about mumble rappers and people not caring if you’re speaking or not anymore is 100% true. Personally, I just rap for fun, and I was rapping to people on Omegle and he said “yo, you’re really good bro, but you’re not gonna go anywhere with how you rap because people don’t appreciate real music anymore”. Sadly, that’s probably one of the truest statements I’ll ever get when it comes down to music.

Funk Volume was a great chapter in his life but it wasn't the peak, I think Hopsin has had high moments but has yet to reach his peak. He is a student of hip hop and killed it with his emo and horrocore rap so far and now he is focusing on different sounds, deliveries/flows and marketing. He has proved that he can rap his ass off, now he has to play the marketing/business chess game.

He gets millions of views on every song he writes, helps produce and in charge of production on his own music videos. He does well with every mixtape he drops. He left his own label to start another one that’s doing excellent by the way. He goes on tour almost every year promoting his own shit. I think he’s taken pretty seriously for now, making money,in charge of his own business and has a loyal fan base. Even has people who don’t even care for his music checking for him and on here watching his interview and leaving a comment! ✌🏽✌🏽 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ An I’m not a little 12 year old Elmo white boy comparing him to mumble rappers. I could give a shit bout those mofos. You won’t see my comments on a lil yachty/ lil Uzi video talking shit about their fans because I don’t go that hard too dis someone. Lmao 😂

See this is why Hopsin is great. He can make lyrical thought provoking emotional songs, and then go diss all of mainstream rap without even half of the mainstream rap fans even noticing. He has the best of both worlds without being seen as a mainstream rapper. Hardcore mainstream rap fans and trendy folk won't pay enough attention to lyrics to realize that the song they are 'bumping' is dissing them.

Listen here man I been a fan since 2009 found this dude randomly and have been a huge fan ever since!! I understand what your saying about wanting the best of both worlds with the beats and then people just enjoying the lyrics but the people who just like the beats are not hip hop fans they are just lit beat seeking pieces of trash that want a bad as bass line to Bob their head to when they catch a buzz and wouldn't care less about who's on th mic. Your real fans enjoy the lyricism in ever song you drop regardless of a wack as booming beat that makes their trunk rattle... you are the realest Mc out the hooks and syllables you use are of another dimension and that's what I love about hopsin he's not afraid to address real shit, and Marcus the same is a real ads dude that doesn't give a fuck about anybody or anything as long as he's staying true to himself and why he started rapping to begin with!!! Stay real hop don't let that mainstream fan base fuck you up!!! #undercover prodigy
