The main thing I like about the compact is the look when paired with the OLED. It legit looks like a new console.

I love these things. I can understand disappointment in the lack of rumble or gyro, but personally I don’t care about either of those things. The comfort of the Hori compact is priceless, and the sticks feel especially great in my opinion, compared to the awfulness of the original joycons.

I can use the pro controller as well as the joycons in a grip comfortably, so the Compact is probably a good fit

I’m buying these after selling my custom shelled joycons. Yes it doesn’t have a lot of functions but I have my mobapad Chitu HD for that it has everything the switch pro controller has but better buttons and back buttons

which ones should i choose? I have big hands and I like comfort, and I need a new control for tomorrow because the next day I'll go on a plane trip and my controls are all screwed up xdddd. And I forgot to say. Only to play in portable mode since to play on TV I use an xbox.

I thought about getting this months ago, but decided to go with the split pad pro because the d pad on the pro isn't so stiff when playing fighting games like Blaz Blue, Guilty Gear ect. Thanks for the review it does look like a nice controller that would be great for platformers tho! I may eventually get it to play games like the upcoming MegaMan Battle Network collection I pre-ordered for Switch so thanks again for showing us!

If only they worked as a controller and had an accelerometer, I don't understand why no one can make a good one of these. This plus wifi and motion controllers and they would have an excellent product.

It seems like this has even more disadvantages to the Split Pad Pro without actually solving any of the negatives that the Pro already comes with. I see no reason to buy this over the Pro which I already don't think is a particularly good purchase
