This was BY FAR the most fun I’ve ever had flying a maiden and then 2 more batteries after. Piece of cake to hand lunch, just wants to fly level. I started off with an 1800 3s. (Covid-19 recoverer, still have issues with equilibrium, vision and fine motor) This plane in either Safe or AS3X is rock solid. It was mildly windy, 6-10 mph, but this plane cut through it like butter. 30-35 minutes flight time (1800 3s, 2200 3s, 2200 4s) Never had to trim it out. A little up elevator with the 4s, but I did that while checking the CG. If you’re thinking of buying one, do so. It’s the best of All Worlds. You want to glide around, take it easy, fly for 30 minutes on one battery, you can do that. You want something that can go close to 100 mph and not feel like you’re gonna lose control 3 feet off the ground? You can do that. Want to work on your loops, rolls, Split S’s, Cuban 8’s? This is the plane. Want to do all of the above on the same battery? This is plane. Other than the first toss, the 1st turn I was out of Safe. I was in low rates (70/30) a couple of passes and then high rates (100/20) for the rest of the 3 batteries. (I did takeoff in Safe when I hand launched with the Smart 4s 2200. Wasn’t sure the what throttle percentage with the added weight, and there’s no room to move the battery forward or back) Best, most fun plane I’ve ever flown. It’s the “Mood Ring” of RC planes. Pick the mood you’re in and it’ll fly that way. If you’re just wanting to chill out, it’s hip to your scene. If you had a bad day at work or at home and you’re wanting to fly like a pissed off 15 year old, pop a 4s in and get your “Need for Speed” face on. What blew me away the most. Rock solid at all times in AS3X. Battery longevity. Recoverability. (I came out of a turn with the 4s, lost the plane in the sun for a sec, when I did see it, I was in a knife edge, nose slightly down attitude. A little freaked out, but I just slowly leveled the wings out, it corrected itself in the nose down, and slowly climbed out. No elevator, no extra throttle, and then it flew by me, I swear it said, “I got this Jeff. Go park your butt under a tree. I’ll call you when the battery gets low.” Favorite plane I’ve ever owned!

Too good a design. Impossible to crash. It also gives people like me who I consider “Advanced Intermediates” the ability to get better at rolls, loops, Cuban 8’s and Inverted without the worry of crashing. I bought two. One for the home field, one that stays in the truck with the old DX6 and a couple 4s Smart batteries. Any park or field in my territory (SC-GA) has become a place to fly. (If there’s no one around) it’s just an awesome plane.

A mate of mine bought the V1 way back in the day and it was cool beginner glider, but had a lot of flex and I never really enjoyed flying it. But for him, it was fine as he was learning. Couple of years later the same friend bought the V2 and when I flew that one I was VERY tempted to get one myself, but I hesitated and missed out before it was discontinued. But now, Holly cow!! I want one and I'm not missing out. The flight envelope on this plane is crazy and I'm definitely getting this day one of release here in Australia. have had this one almost as long as my extra300 and this is my favorite. on a 3s1300mah i get 5-15min and on a 4s2400mah i get 15 to 45min fly time. absolute a joy to fly, can be slow and smooth or fast and agile. and it is so easy for beginner to fly. great job making it

But my cousin also have this model and no issues there. I really do hope you get it sorted out, as it to me at least it is really a great all around flyer.

I have the Advanced version of the Conscendo, it is a fantastic plane that can do a lot of things. I understand why you changed the foam density though, the Advanced is not stiff enough I think. And it has a weak section in the fuselage, right at the back of the cockpit (less foam here, geometry, ...), I had to repair mine at this spot. I don't know if it's the case for this new version. I reinforced mine by adding 2 carbon rods inside, from the back of the cockpit to the receiver compartment, much stiffer now. About the 1300 mAh lipo, I agree, it makes the plane very light, very good for thermals with a aileron/elevator mix ("snap-flap"?). I put the lipo all the way back. Also, I don't know how you can have such a roll rate, mine is much slower... Stiffness of the foam too? Anyway, very good plane, very rewarding for beginners, because it is fast and quite tolerant at the same time. And beautiful to watch!

I modified my Conscendo Advanced a few weeks back with the AR637T and Avian 30 amp ESC so I could program flaperons. Can this new one be programmed for flaperons through forward programming? What would I need to do to fly the conscendo advanced on 4s?

Just reactivated my AMA membership and received the FAA certifications. This plane just called out to me. Had range issues with DX6e so reprogramed DX6 and repositioned the receiver antennas. Will take Conscendo to the field tomorrow if it passes all the tests. Just a very beautiful bird. Have mine set up with 3 cell 1200, 2200 and a 4 cell 2200. Looking for some air time.

I had the S, LOVED IT. I'll never forget the day I threw it into the gully and prayed to God I wouldn't crash it, only tricky thing is it needs a lot of room to land distance wise otherwise it's a breeze to fly especially with safe but practice without it too so you don't get too reliant on it. I bought one, put it together, and the right wing weighs in at 190 grams, and the left wing is 154 grams! That's lots of difference on a smaller wingspan glider. Is it a manufacturing defect? As I have 'x-rayed' it with a powerful LED torch, and everything looks identical and OK internally in both wings. Did I get a one wing in the higher density EP foam, and one wing with the previous lower density wing? I don't want to test fly it, as I expect it to want to auger in on launch and landing. It might fly straight with the SAFE system and the AS3X gyro on, but it won't perform as it should with the added drag the autopilot will use to keep it flying straight through the speed range.

Guys...love seeing all the new stuff coming out. Eflite rocks. But....(there's always a but)...I am DYING to see some from the Mike Patey project! Anything! Been saving my lunch money for a Draco🤪. Been looking hard at the F4 Phantom but... would love a sweet Draco with wheel breaks and prop reverse (or variable pitch). Reallu... I think serious hobbyists would be happy to spend $100 or more than typical for some upgrades. Maybe a simple typical Cub like kit and a more expensive Draco with the features that make Draco...Draco! Like...variable pitch prop and wheel breaks!

The XT60 connectors on your batteries are not compatible with the IC3 connector installed on the ESC, so you can either solder an XT60 to the ESC or you can use an EC3 (which is compatible with IC3 connectors) to XT60 adapter like this one without soldering: www.horizonhobby.com/product/adapter-xt60-device-ec3-battery/DYNC0141.html (this is a high-quality adapter so it will not fail or reduce the performance of the power system in any noticeable way...many low cost/low quality adapters would however)

This is a fun airplane. We're not talking"Radian" type glider here. With a 4S battery, the Conscendo goes like a bat out of hell and does all sorts of neat aerobatics. On landing, however, it is a real floater...lol.

I started from scratch with a Conscendo S, one of the earlier models that had a beginner, intermediate, and expert toggle. I highly recommend starting with this plane the Safe button also levels the plane in an emergency or for easier landing.

I just flew this exact plane for the first time... I have only flown a smaller park flyer P-51 by Eachines.. This plane is a whole new level, bigger and fast.. I felt the field I was at was not big enough (approx. 400m track field).. You need lots of space to comfortably fly this thing if you are a newb... Kinda sux cause now to keep flying this thing I gotta shell out $150 to join an RC club at the appropriate field..

We recommend covering the openings with some clear packing tape to keep the sand out (this will affect cooling of the motor, ESC and battery but it should be fine in most conditions).

So I lost my little sport cub to the wind a while back, I want to order this plane but the only controller I have is the one that came with my rtf cub, the blue one. Will that controller work with this plane?

The MLP6DSM transmitter included with the HobbyZone Sport Cub S RTF is limited range so it can only be used with other 1S (not 2S or 3S) battery powered ultra-micro/UMX class airplanes (like the E-flite UMX Night Vapor or UMX PT-17). To fly the Conscendo Evolution and most larger than ultra-micro/UMX class models you will need a full-range capable transmitter. This includes the Spektrum DXe, DXS, DX6e and 8e, the NX6, 8 and 10, or the iX12 and iX20. One suggestion would be to buy the HobbyZone AeroScout RTF becauses it includes the DXe transmitter, plus a 3S 2200mAh battery that can also be used in the Conscendo. After flying the AeroScout for a bit (it's a good model to learn to fly between the Sport Cub and Conscendo), you can then use the DXe transmitter and 3S 2200mAh battery to fly the Conscendo Evolution: www.horizonhobby.com/product/aeroscout-s-1.1m-rtf/HBZ3800.html

If the RPMs seem too high, be sure to set the pole count of the motor correctly (to 14 poles for the motor in the Night Timber X) :)

Jason did update to the latest version of firmware for his DX8 transmitter in order to take advantage of all the telemetry features/functions ( see this video for more info on how to update the firmware in Spektrum transmitters: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqGWnqGhrNR3ba8 ), but he now uses an NX8 transmitter ( www.horizonhobby.com/search?q=Spektrum+NX+transmitter&search-button=&lang=default ) that's even easier to update because of the built-in WiFi :)

The Conscendo Evolution is not sold with a transmitter because it is NOT intended to be flown by someone without experience who does not already own a suitable transmitter! You need to start with a purpose-built trainer airplane, most of which are available in “RTF” (Ready-To-Fly) versions that include everything you need to fly...a transmitter, battery and charger. We strongly recommend the HobbyZone AeroScout S 2 because it’s an excellent trainer and is also a fun to fly model beyond that. After you master the AeroScout, you can use the Spektrum DXS transmitter it includes, as well as the Spektrum 3S 2200mAh Smart battery and S120 charger for the Conscendo! AS3X is active only if your throttle goes up to 25%, till the battery is disconnected. For Safe to be active you have to follow the specific safe binding procedure in the manual.

I have the Conscendo S. rtf. The first one made. Question? Will the new Conscendo Evolution bind to the transmitter from the rtf Conscedo S? And will all the switches and stuff work with out having to change stuff in transmitter? You know just bind and fly it? Thanks you! Very interested in plane!

Yes! However, we do recommend using the new DXS or any of the current Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (DX6e and 8e, DX6 Gen 2/3, DX8 Gen 2, DX9, iX12 or iX20) to take full advantage of the telemetry capabilities if you purchase the BNF Basic version.

Well it’s a 30amp esc so the power system is about 450watts maximum. I’d say 100-110mph is possible flat and level. Not anywhere near F5D speeds, but more than adequate for mass market appeal.

We did take some time to check the top speed when using Spektrum Smart 4S 2200mAh 30C batteries ( www.horizonhobby.com/product/14.8v-2200mah-4s-30c-smart-lipo-battery-ic3/SPMX22004S30.html ) last week...level flight top speeds are around 80-85 MPH, and you can easily hit 90+ MPH coming out of a dive It's even faster than we expected, and although that's not all this model is about, it's pretty impressive...and is a whole lot of fun!

For those thinkiing of any new Horizon Hobby BNF models. the AR637T TX installed in these models is locked. That means if you ever crash or tire of the model, you either throw away a 120€ TX or are forced to buy a BNF of the same model and reinstall. Given how often Horizon retire models this may be a problem in future or likely you get charged to unlock. At the moment Horizon refuse to help you unlock the AR637T so it can be used in other models. Model is OK, its not a great glider but its OK. Also not super stiff (especially tail boom) as most reviews are informing and you may want to consider better servos.. also check control cables to elevator and rudder..,. they can slip.

The AR637TA receiver was never intended to be "locked" long-term, and you can now update the firmware (FOR FREE) so it will function just like the "open stock" AR637T. This means you can adjust the settings via forward programming, or reset and reprogram it for use in other models, as seen in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGTMpJWsZrprm68 Also, there are plenty of positive reviews and many videos to confirm there are no issues with stiffness of the airframe, tail boom or servos...evidenced by the fact we cannot build and ship this very popular model fast enough (currently sold out in many countries for the next few months!)!

Yes! You need to assign SAFE Select to the B switch to make it work. With the transmitter and airplane powered up, make sure the "Rates" switch (F) is in the "high" (0) rate position. Then, move both control sticks all the way to the bottom inside corners (low throttle, full right rudder, full up elevator and full left aileron). While holding the sticks in the bottom inside corners, flip the B switch back and forth from "0" to "2" 5 or more times quickly. The control surfaces should all move to indicate SAFE Select has been assigned to the B switch. Then, when you have the switch in the "0" position, SAFE Select will be ON. When you move the switch to the "1" or "2" position, SAFE Select will be OFF.

@@HorizonHobbyProducts the transmitter binds to plane. Then I toggle the sticks down and in then I toggle the switch 5 times...nothing is happening. I own 3 horizon BNF why is this one different?!? I have been struggling with this for days. If this is how the BIND FLY IS GOING TO BE FROM NOW ON forget it. I walked through those steps over and over...nothing

@@HorizonHobbyProducts I power the plane up then remove the bind plug. Then I hold the bind button and turn on the power to transmitter. The plane is now bond. Then I press sticks down and inward while toggling mode switch...nothing happens. Where did I go wrong?
