Horizontal dBu Meter with ADI-2 Series & ADI-2 Remote

The Qudelix 5k has a feature where I can input the sensitivity and impedance of my headphones. It will then tell me the peak volume level, the current volume level, as well as the current and voltage being supplied to the headphones. It's great for building intuition about how much power do my headphones really need and what does a safe listening volume sound like etc. I would really love to see this feature implemented in the RME ADI series!

Hi, so i bought the rme adi 2 pro se and was wondering what would be the best studio moniters to use with it that doesn't have a dsp built into the speaker moniters themselves. The reson i ask this is because i heard the speakers with dsp usually resample the audio.

I use the EQ to calibrate headphones and monitors to be more 'colourless'. In the same sense, I want the analyser to also display the band levels without being 'coloured' by the calibration EQ (i.e. spectrum analyser display pre-EQ). In my view, a flat white noise source outputting through headphones calibrated to sound like flat white noise should likewise appear as flat white noise on the analyser, not as white noise plus calibration EQ curve. As far as I can tell there's no way to do this. Have I missed a setting, and if not is this something you guys might consider implementing?

What brand is that metering unit beside the ADI-2?

I am a new RME ADI2 DAC user i am using it as a DAC and route it thru my analogue preamp I find that i need to adjust the output volume to 0 in RME and use the pre amps volume control to the desired level is this a correct method ?

That is a choice. You can do it either way. You may have a little less noise if you control the volume with your analog preamp. Also you can connect the DAC directly to the power amp and control the volume with the DAC

@@RMEAudio I agree to your suggestion. The reason I connected thru my preamp is it has a subwoofer out put and low and high pass filters. And I have one pair of tower speakers. Which are used for movie watching thru streamers and my preamp has a bypass for HT receiver. So this arrangement suits me. The idea of adding the RME is to get good DAC to get perfect music out put and use all RMEs digital SPIDF connections to get a streaming and CD played thru RME and route thru preamp. No option in my current set up but to use RME as dac. Hope this explains. Thx.

looks beautiful. how about updating the totalmix visual? for years the interface is like for Windows XP (!) how about removing the separate hammerfallDSP window and embedding it into the totalmix window? Why has RME been unable to make basic innovations and updates for so many years? you say driver stability, I will say that the latest versions of audient drivers do not crash. And these were some of the most problematic interfaces in terms of stability. At the same time, the audient has no problems with switching sampling in Windows. but RME has it - if I install the 48000 driver and select 48000 in Windows, I hear clicks and lags at any buffer size. The problem goes away only by switching to 44100. No more RME, I think... neumann and merging showed what the desktop interface of the future looks like.
