I told you mine had come on the last video. I had no plans to ever have steam locos, on my layout. Never mind a Hornby ! This black 5 is the ultimate. Its an amazing model. Looks brilliant, runs brilliant (straight out of the box, not even run in properly yet) Sounds awesome too. Haven't had time yet to get it steaming, will have a go tomorrow. Well done Hornby. I've been amazed by it. Thanks Mike

I believe all the Caprotti fitted Black Fives had the top feed in the middle of the loco boiler, you can see this on 44726, which is in preservation, so with this new model being the Caprotti version is correct.

With the steam bridging the chimney Hornby told me to use a tiny amount of petroleum jelly on the inside of the chimney of my flying Scotsman It certainly helps with the steam. I do it about every four fills of the tank The top feeds on some of the black fives were in different places on the boiler depending on what workshop made them so Hornby has modelled this I've really enjoyed your videos on the Steam models

@modeloco
@modeloco 16 күн бұрын
I’m feeling that with so much excitement in OO lately, that, TT has lost its grip a little and with Simon Kohler leaving so unexpectedly made other manufacturers nervous about its momentum. It may depend on how sales go for the latest batch of locomotives?
@Rturn2609
@Rturn2609 16 күн бұрын
@ Hornby need to kick up a gear with TT for sure. Others are holding back to not put money in something that won’t be supported by others But once more take a jump I think it could be a fantastic range Just so slow at the moment, or delays with things That will hurt the brand for sure. With nothing being scheduled for an announcement from Hornby at the moment that’s another spanner in the system to hurt things On our side, Hornby have put a lot of funds in to this, not sure they could even think of cutting losses on that just now At least they will bring out all that’s been stated so far before killing it off But I think we have another year before they start thinking that But again, they need to kick things up, personally they should reach out to another company for TT to really kick up a bit. Share some work and the load, yet they won’t as they want to hold that brand to them. That could be a big downside and cause the it all to crumble. I fully understand and appreciate the time designing testing prep samples etc happen That’s another downside to all being made in China. We shall see However, the range of new (very delayed) 00 items and new ones being announced soon 🤞could interesting and a good boost for Hornby and others alike
@modeloco
@modeloco 16 күн бұрын
@ I can totally agree with that too. Sands can soon shift. I felt on the OO side that Hornby seemed to be getting cajoled by certain others and connected on line influencers into letting slip their innovative plans in favour of Railroad and the so called Junior Railroad Plus, hence my BEWARE video some time back. All as Simon K was leaving which all seemed so well timed as Bob Dylan would say. It can certainly feel to me that there are different departments competing for budgets and that they don’t always connect as they should. That the budget items were in danger of grabbing all the swag and simply handing all the loot to the eager eyed external, tired of waiting competitors and, that the lack of harmony and unity within due to this, possibly, leading to decoders not fitting into locomotives as originally planned, website information getting typo errors and all combined, which then hits sales and thus drives the argument more, for simply going back to basics. TT I feel got into all that as well. I think TT is still a great stepping stone into the hobby. It remains to be seen if the latest OO greats we are seeing were too advanced to stop or if HQ has now realised where the bread is buttered and have now swung the ship back toward real modelling and away from the simplistic black an white approach and notion that thirty somethings want a cheap modern era boxed set way in and an oval of track will really inspire gadget hooked kids. Yes, it has its place, you could argue but, we all know what really sells by the number of unsold items or new start ups in the last ten years. There’s obviously a real hunger out there. A wake up, woke up, shake up was possibly needed? Have the tides turned or will fear yell loudest on the spreadsheets for more Play-trains? All speculation and written out of a love for the brand and this amazing hobby that has grown over the years and long may it continue 👍 We shall see 🙏

Hi, it's me again. So... - 1 you still didn't made 4k 60FPS, and didn't received KZbin 60FPS status as well, not sure why you waiting... Moving objects are smashed, I can only rewind video instead watching you.. - 2 again you pushed camera over your head while working with lok, that is terrible to see +3 the distance to this big lok are nice, but you could add some very close video parts to it while it's moving, like collegues from Germany or Austria usually do - just a tip, buy something to put on those green scratched wood, it would be much more presentable Very strange feelings. From the one side you done a lot of work like profi for the video, but from the other side you seems you just do not want to make finished product. So I can not understand what place you like to find. Relaxing on the home chair with a cup of wine while making video with no requests of your visitors. Or to make really good home product which meets modern requests.

@@Alexander_Sth I have gone to 25 fps to suit UK as mentioned in the comments. I think the mix up here is a simple misunderstanding. I’m a modeler having fun, ex-engineer, entertainer and musician so I have studied audio production at great length yet, even that always seems consumer grade rather than studio quality but, computer quality does get better slowly. I’m not that deep into cameras, lenses, settings and post. I want to capture things as they happen. I definitely don’t drink wine, that just came out if you’re referring to my video end, it gives my stomach cramps or loads of beer. Maybe one on a new year nowadays. I dont think to hell with it either but, can only juggle so many plates at once and I’m not falling victim here. I do want it to be better but, my revenue and outgoing cannot stretch to Adobe premier monthly fees, they’re extortionate for my projects, then the additional time on top. I use iMovie but, have tried Final Cut Pro though it has more settings to configure and watch. 60 fps takes up far more hard drive space. I can also see why many influencers though appearing to be one guy and a smart phone are in reality also using very good shoulder based cameras too and have a team or usually a parent or someone close doing the editing, script and post production, even sponsors tailoring scripts. You probably and rightly so, pick on my weakest link here and as a post production type may find it baffling or that I’m simply lazy but, that’s far from the truth. I’ve invested heavily in equipment but, compared to a Post production facility it’s minuscule no doubt. PS 1. When you say green scratched wood, do you mean my modelers cutting mat? 2. What do mean by Profi? 3. Lok, Big Lok, no idea what you mean I turn the camera on and work. 4. I place the camera best where it won’t obstruct me as a wobbling, knocked camera is worse. I’ve experimented with a stand next to me and do now cut to these as and when I can but, I’m in a confined space in fact I do call it my Mac cave All good, Andy 👍

@modeloco well, I'm steel very curious who you want to be here with your projects, because you done everything opposit to usual advices in this theme and stiil try to defend it instead of simple try it. Seems you spray your money and time to things which have no effect at all. I see you try to do some things very professional, some of them too much. - those idea of 25fps was a nice joke for me from your support team, no any special UK standards, electricity issues and so on. It was the idea in 80s with PAL/NTSC as well. But now you've got PC, smartphones and independing monitors. The only important thing is to get 60 or at least 50 fps KZbin status. That is the only standard you need to meet. - who you are with a video can tell cup of wine, because some guys like Schulz like to seat in front of camera with a layout background and a glass of beer and for a hour discuss situation with locs, model shops and so on. I have no question for their video quality, because the aim is different with yours - well, you still tell me about money. Have you seen Matt Damon adventure on Mars? He make things from what he got. Just do the same and you do not need to invest. You have to find the way to deal with Premier or what so ever until you receive status 60FPS from KZbin, no matter how. I've using old 4k smartphone with water flex tubes. They cost nothing. Just bend them to right point and everybody would be happy. But you still didn't even seen those guy who I gave to you to see how he found right place from his shoulder. - do not have place on SDD? Me to. Delete videos after uploading, do not make long videos, people would rewind it anyway. For me 5 minutes of pure quality and most important info is much more useful than 3 hour of photoshoot and 24.99 smashing FPS. - do you have a dreams? If so why not watching best video ideas in modeltrains from other collegues? Also some Fleischmann, Z21 or Roco official channels, some very great guys with home projects. Look how they take a video. - word "capture" means to catch something. Well you do not do it with 24.99FPS. It is impossible at all no matter what equipment you've got. Answers 1 I mean green veneer of your layout. It looks ok for 50s and awful 75 years later. Need to find some photo background to lay it down on the veneers. Or you need to finish terrain. Or it is better to use some fresh modern material, like new light grey or white table (can be found used), or gloss one color furniture (for example for kitchen) part like people make for presentation. Or use one color carpet like our british young collegue. 2 Profi means you try to catch as more new, modern and fashion video things for mixing your video, which is obvious even too much for TV or young guys and girls 3 I told you few times that for video should be found right proportion between object and canvas size. That means you can not capture bacterias with the same distanse as locomotive in 1/87. The same is for locomotives with different size. 4 take advices above, find the way to do it instead fighting against Have a nice day, Alex
