I mean it literally loses one of long ammos strongest strengths, its falloff is abysmal, after like 25 meters you no longer 1 tap a already downed player. 2 tapping at a distance is also very rough.

why wouldn't they throw the suppressor on the berthier instead if they wanted to suppress a long ammo weapon? the berthier is way under used, and would have been perfect for this buff. adding a suppressor to the krag was a terrible idea.

Cause the Berthier's strength was supposed to be the inter-changeable ammo stuff you could do. Problem was that it was during an era where special long ammo was either spitzer or explo, everything else was doodoo. Spitzer was exclusively for snipers and Bertha didn't have explo to play around it's more close range nature. So the gun fell out of grace. Much in the same way the Lebel is now mostly an old relic where it once was one of the most picked guns in the game next to the mosin and sparks. But at least the lebel had a chance, as did the Vetterli, the Berthier was mostly stillborn.

I actually do not agree with adding this weapon to the game, at all. This weapon beats all the other silenced weapons by a mile, wrecking the balance. I also feel like it moves the game in a more casual direction, too. I hope i'm wrong.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that. It’s just simply the premium version of the suppressed weapons. Its price is much higher proportionally than the vetterli suppressed. This is similar as to how we have different tiers of standard rifles. The Mosin doesn’t make the marathon irrelevant. They have different quirks and different prices to match
