Random aside: I think it's interesting that Neanderthals aren't lost completely as they were bred into the homo sapiens. We have about a 1% in there somewhere floating about & I always thought that was kinda cool.

I did a DNA test to find out my percentage of Neanderthal DNA, being the nerdy biologist that I am. And I have a little over 2% which is really high. Stoked. 😁

Brain size means literally nothing, it's all about how many wrinkles you've got on your brain that's what defines intelligence. That's why elephants have very large smooth brains while humans have comparatively small and wrinkly brains.
@gorrium5027
@gorrium5027 4 жыл бұрын
VampirateYuki what actually matters is if you have a efficient way to manipulate your surroundings so you can make tools and if you can socialize neanderthals according to a genetic study lacked key genes responsible for socialization which meant they couldn’t reach large tribe populations and easily pass accomplishments or discoveries throughout the species

Actually Neanderthals were expert hunters as well as sapiens, the only difference was that Neanderthals charged at the prey meanwhile sapiens threw their spears at the prey or used bows and arrows I don't like how Neanderthals are just insulted like that

Neanderthals survived for 360,000 years, partly during the last ice age, whereas modern humans have only been around for 200,000. Let’s wait first how long we will survive before judging who’s best.

You honestly would have a lot of trouble telling the difference between us (Homo sapiens) and Neanderthals (Homo neanderthalensis) if they were both dresses in more modern clothes etc. Visually, our forehead comes up from our eyes, Neanderthals forehead sloped backwards. And they were more stocky, or 'barrel-chested' and much stronger than us. One of the German museums have really good life-sized replicas of what Neanderthals looked like. I didn't even realize till I read the little sign!

The neanderthals actually could beat any animal in 1vs1 fight due to far superior physique over homo sapiens, its actually finding the prey and teamwork against larger groups of animals they were bad at.
