My father always has told me that horses love the weather. I think sometimes I transfer my emotions to them. I think they don’t like it because I don’t like it 😂 keep up the great videos. God bless and stay safe.

As someone who grew up near Buffalo NY, I love the great lakes region of the US. You really can get your money's worth in a variety of cities all around the great lakes - just gotta find the city or area that resonates with you the most. I've lived away from the area for many years now (though in Chicago for 7 years!) and I have felt a little yearning for that kind of life again. Good luck exploring!

Thank you for this! We also liked Buffalo. It’s just amazing seeing a lake so big that it looks like the ocean!

I love geocashing but I would not recommend while riding bareback. Many people make the boxes very small and hard to find. They can also be in a tree or hanging from a branch, so while riding it would be hard to see. You should try it but keep your expectations low because a lot of people hide the boxes very well. Another thing, some may be off the trail or somewhere where horses can't go. Still, I hope you try and find some!

i am a fanatic when it comes to colic cuz it’s scary. hence i give warm water at least twice a day when it is cold. they learn that when i come in with water it will be warm and a lot of times come up to drink right away. i recommend it!!! the heated buckets i also use just keep it from freezing.

Don’t settle yet until you visit Arkansas and Missouri horse camps. It’s very affordable and has all the things you mentioned and more plus very clean rivers and lakes. Hay is affordable and great nutritional quality.

Carmella, this video was awesome! I love you all so much. You are my favorite KZbinr and I will support you forever! Your horses are awesome, pretty, beautiful and fabulous!! Your idea is awesome. You have helped me so much! I love you so much!! Sometimes I will be in crisis and I will remember your tips and do things! Once, I was walking outside with my friend and my cows were out and one of my cows named Dhanya came to my road and she was limping and I was shocked to see that. And after that she went into the pasture, I saw blood marks where she was walking. Next I was very surprised to see that. And after all that happend, I saw her back-right hoof, bleeding hard. And I thought in my thoughts that what could this possibly mean, because I don't know if she had been in an accident or if she stepped on a stone and the stone went in her hoof or something but I was shocked to see that. And she gave birth to two boy calves and the calves weren't there so, then I remembered your tips and it helped me so much!!! Thank you soooooo much Carmella and Collin ❤! All the best, be safe, be happy and I am wishing you all the best 🐎🐎🐴💙❤!!!! Sorry for asking many questions in comments but, when do you bathe the horses like once a week or twice a week or what??
@CarmellaAbelКүн бұрын
Thank you for your support! I don’t actually bathe my horses too much, just in the summer time usually. When I used to compete, I would bathe them each weekend. Now it’s more like once a month!

in a case like this can u not put them in the trailer for a few hours. i’m just asking cuz i dont know.
@Wendy-bd9zuКүн бұрын
I would sleep better if they would be inside the truck!
@CarmellaAbelКүн бұрын
It’s more natural for a horse to be outside dealing with the elements than inside in a narrow, loud space. If my horses could pick, I think they would prefer being outside. That said, if we ever get into really bad weather, like hail or threatening tornadoes, we will go in the trailer 😅

In south Dakota I paid 6.50 a bale most years for good grass hay. I pay S4.50 for alfalfa or mixed alfalfa/gras, but the bales are almost a third smaller. Certainly easier for this old lady to manage.

So the horses didnt have a shed to go to? Isn't that risky? I mean wouldn't they be sick?
@CarmellaAbelКүн бұрын
Horses don’t get sick in the rain; they were made to be out in the elements. I would like to have a shelter for them, but it we tend to stay where it is warm, so they can handle the rain!

@CarmellaAbel okayyy thank you very much for answering. This was kinda reassuring for me because every time it rains here i get scared for my horses and cant sleep well at night (i know i'm crazy 😂). Ps i hope i didnt sound rude before❤️❤️

@claudias460110 сағат бұрын
Had work horses on the ranch I grew up on Texas and with the horses I owned and the ones I managed in South Dakota. I have never ever put a blanket/ coat on a horse. Kind of like Labrador retrievers, the get undercoats to protect them from cold weather. Undercoat: A soft, fluffy layer of hair under a horse's longer, stiffer guard hairs. Guard hairs: Protect the undercoat from dirt, water, and sweat. They also shed rain. Winter coat: Horses grow a thick, fluffy winter coat to trap air and protect them from the cold.
