So it’s abuse to let a horse be outside in 90° weather, but it’s ok to let the owner’s horse be outside in 90° weather?
@InterestingDragons Жыл бұрын
So I know a lot about horses, they can go out in 90 weather, but it’s not the best idea. If they have water and a shelter I don’t think to much of it if it’s for like 30 minutes. But when you need to ride your horse is needs to be a short ride. It can’t be abusive unless they stay outside for longer then like 2 hours, or worked hard in hot weather without being washed off.

If you want to go to a wedding, you have to pay for all your stuff. Your clothes, your travel, and your babysitting. The poster is an entitled jerk. I've been in a ton of weddings and I've paid for a lot of ridiculously ugly dresses, hair, makeup and loads of gifts.

Right?! I was so surprised about the judgment. His argument was really: we are all uncomfortable so you should not get to skip out. I hate wearing a suit, and I hate what it stands for. Money and status portrayed in clothes. I don’t give a fuck about how I look. My friends know that, my family knows that, my girlfriend knows that. They would never expect me to wear a suit, because that’s not who I am. If you love someone you respect the way they are. So much hate for the poster and the narrator

Dealing with on call people is a nightmare in general. I used to work as a hospital operator and had to page on-call doctors if a patient called in, regardless of the time or number of calls received. Many, MANY doctors would curse at us, tell us not to call, refuse to speak to the patients...all kinds of foolishness. These people were SCHEDULED for these shifts and expected us to get in trouble for not doing our jobs so they could sleep. I don't miss that job.

Wedding story. It’s her wedding, her rules… unfortunately I’ll put myself in mothers shoes. If I can’t pay, I would tell them I can’t go. I would make sure I’m not called a jerk by saying, I have no extra money. Unless I was given a year in advance to know it was going to be child free, then I’d have a year to find some one, save for it and have it happen.

I feel like op in the last story is just being too paranoid. If the baby come, it comes no matter where you are. Added bonus if both she and her fiancé goes to the graduation and then she has the baby, it'll be a much more joyful experience of have two great things happening at once. It's damn you do or damn if you don't. Eather chance having a baby outside the town you want to have it in or risk having your fiancé hating you and the child or just leave in general for not attending the graduation. Let's put it this way. The fiancé will have it hanging over op's head if the baby comes weeks after the graduation and he didn't go. He might leave or not got to his first kid's graduation just out of spite. Women could hold grudges but so can Men.

Last story: god I hate this perspective so much. Listen, I get it, being pregnant makes the woman super vulnerable. However, this is super important for the husband. If the woman is not having labor pains, then deal with it. Arrange a family member to watch the wife and let him go see his niece. It is much better to try and let him accomplish both tasks then force him to forsake one and then nothing happens. In that situation, you risk resentment and no one would be to blame but the paranoia of the pregnant woman.
@FrozenWillow1980 Жыл бұрын
Last story - Dude - she's 34 weeks along, not 40. Most babies stay put in the womb until at least week 37 and if OP ended up in the case I was in with 1 out of my 4, she would have been 42 weeks pregnant. The earliest was my son who was bang on the due date at 40 weeks. The others, 40+6, 40+6, 40+14. Even then, there is nothing stopping pregnant mama from going to the graduation. One night stay over in a hotel? Could go and get a pregnancy spa treatment, nice meal, spend quality time with hubby before baby finally arrives because rest assured - you don't get those once baby arrives. Jees louise. I hope hubby went to the graduation and came back with bubs still in the womb he/she was renting.

Disney proposal. OP's sister is CRUEL for telling her kids that OP is going to Disney at all, let alone that they don't want to take them, too. It is manipulation and AHolery of the highest order and she should be ashamed of herself, though I doubt that will ever happen.

I know it sounds wrong, but if you’ve got a teen watching your kid, you could probably get away with paying less. Plus, it’s a HUGE milestone! Once in a life time!! That brings us to 2. For story 5, the op isn't the jerk. She tried to work out a solution to go, but the sister kept trying to push her to come no matter what. Even going as far as turning the whole family against the op for not going to the wedding. Which i find completely unfair. The ops sister even said, "Children and weddings are both parts of life, and that the op needs to figure it out." Acting as if the kid is the problem. And the op even said they werent trying to force the sister to pay for anything! Like, if the ops family was so mad about the op not going. Then help her find someone to watch her kid. Geeze-

I'm getting the feeling of golden child syndrome on the part of OP's sister.
@nadinesharp9766 Жыл бұрын
OP IS the jerk. Her kid, her problem. She hasn't done anything to "work out a solution to go". I seriously doubt that OP had only 5 min. to prepare for this. Wedding dates are usually announced months, if not more than a year in advance, so she's likely had way more than enough time to prepare and save up for this. If she truly wanted to go, she would have started saving back when. There are also services which vet child carers and she could use one to find a sitter if she truly doesn't know anyone who would keep her kid for ONE night for pay. The kid's 6, not an infant. You let them watch some goofy kid TV or movies, maybe play a couple games of Candy Land, order in a pizza, and the kid goes to bed. Cereal for breakfast and kid plays or watches TV for a few hours til mom comes home. It's really not as hard as OP's making it out to be. It sounds like OP is either a helicopter parent or she just really doesn't care about going to her sister's wedding. Maybe both. The family of course doesn't understand why OP isn't making any valid effort here and will try to convince her to go. That's natural, not a concerted smear campaign of some kind. Good grief.
@chellibrown9249 Жыл бұрын
@@nadinesharp9766 I heavily doubt that the sister told the poster until a few weeks before the wedding
@nadinesharp9766 Жыл бұрын
@@chellibrown9249 As I already noted, wedding dates are usually announced months, if not more than a year in advance. It's why there are save the date cards. Even if it was only a few weeks, which is *highly* doubtful, OP still had time to find someone and put aside money or even arrange to borrow a little if necessary. It simply sounds like she really just doesn't want to put forth the effort.
