@@emeryldkitsune I think it's because they don't usually make the er sound in japanese. eve when pronouncing r's it comes out as an L sound so when she pronounces the er correctly it sounds like she actually can make english sounds the jp hologirls usually can't make. i hope that makes sense lol

The sound they use is somewhere in between which is why Ls and Rs are used interchangeably, because to a Japanese person they sound the same. There’s also no V sound in Japanese, they usually pronounce it as a B. But she’s actually stopping short on “moves”, she saying “ moo”. I guess the cluster of consonants at the end (vs) is a bit much haha.

I can't say she nailed it. That'd imply she did it perfect, which nobody can really say she did. Not to say she didn't do amazing. Like, for being non-native, around 80% of the song was either on point or amazingly sung, 10%- ~15% was mostly slight mispronouncing that makes it kinda feel weird at some points, and then the rest were some parts she seemed to just miss how to properly read while singing. Big kudos to her still for such an amazing performance, I can only hope to continue seeing her get better until she actually nails it. Denying her the room to improve would kinda make her struggle pointless, and having things that can be pointed out while doing this great a performance can only help her reach where she wants to be.

Given her normal english level this is really good. Then again singing is likely easier in the sense that she is not worrying about the meaning and only focusing on the sounds it makes.
