Dr. Now made the right call here, a doctor can only do so much in the way of helping a patient get healthy, and if they're not willing to pull their own weight and do what is necessary, then ultimately it's on them. You can't cheat the system, manipulate the people around you and expect to get what you want through a quick fix, it takes hard work and dedication. I do however wish her the best and I hope that this experience does motivate her to take her health seriously and make the changes necessary to get better.

Sometimes , being overweight can be out of someones control. Depending on genetics etc but , the simple way to lose weight is eat less and walk a lot. It's crazy because, this past year I lost 30 lbs. I never even considered myself overweight but, looking at pictures from a couple years ago to now I visibly look different in my face. I went from 185 to 155. I'm 5'10. I made some lifestyle changes after a long relationship I was in. Instantly got healthier, looked better and got the biggest raise of my life. Sometimes, people pull you down and hold you back. Point is , lots of walking , drinking a lot of water and simply eating less will help shed a couple pounds for sure.

People aren’t willing to put in the work anymore. They come to the doctor to get a quick surgery but unless they lose the weight first, the surgery won’t be safe or help them. Then they come back months or years later with an excuse as to why they haven’t lost the weight and expect the doctor to finally proceed with the surgery to ‘magically’ fix them. I’m thankful Dr. Now saw through her unwillingness to change and denied her. People need to start taking accountability for themselves. At the end of the day, you need to rely on YOU, not someone else to make your problems go away.
