@Lilabrausedino5 жыл бұрын
For me, it's not about the meaning. It's just that feeling, those videos have. The oldshool quality, the heartwarming situation of a dad, talking with his baby, so many details which express such a complex feeling that is not describeable by word, but by Jack's Video/s.

Elijah Newmaker English teachers beg to differ😂
@tiedyechamp19135 жыл бұрын
I think the meaning is in patience and letting things happen on their own. The father explains that "all good things take time" then claims very shortly after that the brand new hot dog roller probably doesn't work since the hotdogs are cold. Earlier, he talks to the baby, trying to explain phenomenons, then asks the baby to explain hiccups since one day the baby will probably be a scientist anyways. It seems that patience is necessary in the pop. He needs to understand that things don't come about instantly. That's my interpretation, anyways. Beyond the possible deeper meaning, the video is just a cute short about a father hanging out with his son. It could very well be that no meaning was intended. After all, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I may add they're outside; there's grass and bushes behind the two and the light in the final frame doesn't exactly radiate from an indoor source (else we'd see the other windows brighten up) The father says, "something smells good," as in, most likely the food coming from the house they're sitting behind as well. I'd love to think of it like a dad taking his son out "camping" though, it could also very well be a homeless father being optimistically loving to his son; either way, it's a sweet little piece where we have too little information to formulate a definitive truth - a wonderfully somber truth in itself that we'll never really know who these people are, but sweet knowing they're there. For themselves.

The "I love you" at the end made me genuinely tear up. I don't know why. Maybe a simple "I love you" is what I needed to hear today. People should say that to others more often. Who knows when someone might need it.

I genuinely wonder if just saying I love you is something people like hearing. You might think „duh“ but I, I guess because of my past, don’t treat every „I love“ you equally and don’t believe almost every one…
@anxietyfartz9794 Жыл бұрын
I think for me it was the way he said it. With such a tone of finality, like it was the conclusion to their day, and everything they did together led up to that sentiment. He talked about his visions for his kid’s future, about his past as a teenager, and small mundane details like the cold hot dogs & the nice smell. And at the end he basically went “All of this is just to say, I love you and I’m glad to be your dad.”

I've had some rough patches with my father in the past but I'm glad he's come around and we are on much better terms and I hope the same for all. I read a book several years ago called "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge and it profoundly changed my perspective and my world on so much. Gave me an understanding and a healing and a confidence I didn't know I needed. I just wanted to offer it up and hope that it helps; it helped me with a lot. Feel free to check it out and give it a read.

Hiccups start in the diaphragm, the dome-shaped muscle between your lungs and stomach. Normally, the diaphragm pulls down when you inhale to let air into your lungs, and then relaxes when you exhale so air can flow back out of your lungs to exit your nose and mouth. But if something irritates your diaphragm, it can spasm, forcing you to suddenly suck air into your throat, where it hits your voice box. That makes your vocal cords suddenly close, creating the distinct “hic!” sound. I totally copy pasted this text from somewhere because I am not a scientist.

And since you're an atheist, who cares about what a god who you don't believe in thinks? Just live your life and be a good person. That's all that matters. You don't need religion for that.
