2:05 the inspector saying "Kenneth" has the same vibe of "dude he's still resisting you need to put the final nail in his coffin by telling him the truth" As if they knew already that Nicholas was going to refuse.

Even the part when he says in Sanford Gloucestershire, he doesn’t hear him so he says it loud and clearly with a bit of aggression is just comic gold!

Everything about this movie was perfect. How everything is called back to a previous scene

Interesting how this scene foreshadows the eventual truth behind Sandford. The cosy, 'moral' establishment make Nicholas 'disappear' from their organisation for the greater good of their careers and reputations, much like the NWA get rid of anyone who threatens to damage the reputation of the village.

I love that little twitch that Bill does when he says "I'm the Chief Inspector!" There's more evil in that than the whole of Sandford

Watched this movie numerous times but i only recently noticed that theres a slight uplifting tune at 0:27 when nicholas is going to be promoted but then parodically switched back to audible office noises when sgt announces it was going to be in the country 😂

The funniest thing about this is that probably after he left the Chief Inspector got fired because crime was raised up to 400%
@wea11176 жыл бұрын
Actually what was said is that he was 400% of any other officer effectively meaning he arrested as much as 4 other officers. Although he did say any other officer which means that that figure is compared against 4 of the second best cop they have so it's probably more like 6 of the average officers arrest quota. I counted 36 officers in the shot of the "Team" which means Nicholas is actually responsible for roughly 15-20% of their arrests which is still significant and would lead to a large rise in crime but it's not as dire as a 400% increase.

@@wea1117 Actually, I think the reason Why, is because Officer Nicolas was managing to track down the _Sources_ and was leaving them Spooked, forcing the Criminals to lower their profiles to prevent Nicolas 'Super Cop' to get a bead on Them. Once he was confirmed Gone, they no longer needed to stay Low, and Rose up, driving up the crime rate. After all, Criminals are not completely stupid. If they are organized or working together, they will keep track. And if a Cop is capable of catching 4-5 Criminals a _day,_ which most cops rarely have to do on a daily basis, the Organized Criminals would keep a look out for him/her... And the moment they are Gone, Well, time to go to Work.

@@wea1117 - It wouldn't "lead to a large rise in crime" unless the entire population consisted of criminals, that was the _only_ police station in London, and none of the _other_ officers increased their number of arrests. There are in fact over 30 thousand Met officers, so overall it would have no noticeable effect.

Always loved how silly the movie is yet still somehow grounded, the man has a 400% higher arrest rate then anyone else yet the next scene when he gets dumped we all feel like that could be us. Edgar hasn't made a movie this good since
