There’s so much to love in this scene. How Nicholas understands the old guy’s accent now, because he’s warming up to Sanford. At 3:02 that lion roar sound effect, driving home how Frank is an old stalwart and doesn’t want to give up his position.

Something I haven't seen mentioned here: The way they all raised their visors and took off their sunglasses one by one, symbolizing their eyes finally fully opening to what's happened. Same with Saxon when he stopped barking. Also, in this part and the next, all the officers could finally show what they are truly made of. And the shift in attitude towarrd Nicholas, especially in the Andes. Love, love love all that! Annnnd something I just realized now: Nicholas takes command, and none of them even questions it!

2:08 - I notice the way Frank's expression lifts and becomes more vulnerable and stunned at that moment. I think he knew that his wife wouldn't like what he'd become, what he was doing to make Sanford "perfect", but I guess it was all he thought he had left. I wish he'd thought about his son a little more. He still had Danny. But because of his insanity he almost lost his son, too.

Think I might remake the film and instead of Angel being a top London cop, he’s actually a new guy who is sent to sandford to show him the ropes and he gets suspicious of the accidents. He investigates and the events turn out in a similar fashion to the original film.

One of the references to Shaun of the dead in the movie is actually the dvd itself, the scene where Danny is looking at dvds in sommerfield and sees Nicholas chasing the shoplifter, he throws the dvd he’s looking at back in the pile and it lands next to a Shaun of the dead dvd re titled “The Zombie’s tea party” and has a sticker over shaun’s face

Danny did make sense of one thing. Frank was a devoted police officer once, sworn to protect Sandford and its people, and I'm pretty sure that's why Irene fell in love with him. What would she say if she could she him as he is now?!

1:23 fave scene in the movie. Sgt. Nicholas Angel is an example of a true police officer (he's also feminist to a fault, even as little as reminding everyone to call women cops police officer because he knows the stereotypes against female police officers), an officer that protects the people and isn't afraid to rebel if his boss, the police chief, is abusing their power.He also isn't afraid to say plainly to his fellow cops that they are turning a blind eye on the abuses or they are being brainwashed, that they keep insisting on acting like submissive slaves, still following orders.

Actually, feminism is not an issue - it's actually a joke - and a nod - due to police regulations and directives within the Met in London from up high. Police officers have to use some kind of non-offensive lingo in case there's a complaint, like in the film, don't call car crashes "road accidents", they call them "traffic encounters"; shootings in the UK are called "discharges" and muggings are called "violent interactions" . That and the paperwork involved (thus the dual pen wield) are all sort of jokes at the police in the UK's expense especially in London.

How did Nicolas manage to convince everyone about the NWA and Sandford being a lie? He didnt present evidence to fall back on, the officers didnt seem to care about the low murder rate and the accident rate suspicously high, they just thought it was a regular everyday occurence. The only thing that supported Nicolas' speech was Danny's backup. So am I missing something? How did Nicolas and Danny get everyone to come to their senses?

They were familiar with the town so his words might have got them to thinking there was some truth to what he was saying. But I think the thing to keep in mind was how antagonistic the chief was acting in this scene. He usually plied them with cake and ice cream whnever someone did wrong. But suddenly he has two guns pointed at Nick and Danny, his own son? It could also be that they just had this desire to stop being useless. It would make a wonderful discussion what exactly motivated them to side with Nick and Danny.

Also: even if they didn't get along well with Danny, the Andy's probably grew up with him and were around when Mrs. Butterman committed suicide. So for them to hear Danny say he's glad she didn't live to see his father turn into a murderer they knew it was serious.
