1927 was the peak year for twenties dance bands, as this hit song from the "British Whiteman" band: Jack Hylton, shows. I got stranded at the begining bars by a brief crazy trombone statement! The solo trumpet backed by the humming trio large notes is beautiful. A superb arrangement after the vocal and trumpet solo too! It was Philippe Brunn, I suppose. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Rich instrumentation as well, the viola (!?) solo sounds great and the violins and clarinets at the bridge sound glorious in full Whiteman style. I can't stop listening it! And how do they swing! Thank you! The great pictures you uploaded are again postponed. The music is superb in any way. I can compare this one to the "Phantom blues" by Joe Candullo. As always you got a great sound out of your His Master's Voice 78. After this was written I read your comments and I see we are in total agree about this fantastic rendition.
