I track my 11th gen Si regularly, it’s a very capable platform. I didn’t feel the need to upgrade the stock suspension to coilover because it’s the perfect balance between track, backroads, and commute driving scenario. 200-300TW summer tires is a must on the Si, it transforms the car completely, luckily mine came with it. For the new Si to be track ready, all you need is dot4 high temperature fluid, track focused brake pads. The stock front caliper is a big limiting factor for the Si, it relies on the ambient temperature to cool down, so even with track pads, I would run into brake fade 4-5 laps into my session. I do recommend anyone who wants to track their Si directly upgrade to a big brake kit instead of running stock front caliper with track pads. However, I do wish it had 50 more horsepower on a bigger track such as Laguna Seca. Why haven’t I Hondata tuned it? Because these L15CA engines are extremely weak, if you tune it and use it regularly for track scenario, it will start burning oil, or could potentially develop oil leak after about 8-10 track days from what I’ve seen from another gentlemen who also tracks his Si @dilon kao

I have way more than 10 track weekends on my 10th gen Civic Si tuned on E85, get a ktuner you will fall in love with your car all over again Honda left plenty of power on the table! I'd say the sweet spot is full bolt ons and a tune and skip E85, I did time attack so I tried to get everything out of the car I could. My engine is still fine, but my transmission blew 3rd gear. It does have an upgraded clutch. A used transmission was a $2,000 boo boo put still possible to fix at home with buddies in a day.

Love me some Lightning Lap! It’s something I look forward to every year and probably my favorite thing on this channel. It’s also great to get the thoughts and commentary of the drivers about their laps and the cars driven.

You can brake later/go deeper into T4 to allow the car to be straighter into T5 - It will allow you to make T5-10 basically be WOT the whole time (or close to it depending on aero/stability), which obviously allows for more overall speed Line in oak tree looked better in the Si than the ITS, but you can get on the throttle between apex #1 and and braking for apex #2 to roll a little more speed (though the throttle by wire mapping/tuning might make that hard to do) You can turn later into the the right-hander before roller coaster to allow straightening roller-coaster + adding more speed.

Type r has the same tires….you have to pay extra for the upgraded cup tires

There was never a cup 2 option for the FL5. Not sure where that rumor started, I know they mentioned it on the press launch that there would be but I have yet to see one person say they had an available cup 2 option

Like watching slow motion lol. In iracing racing in the Miata is painful but it’s faster than this😂

Interesting that the integra posted a faster lap than the fastest Miata in lightning lap history.

First problem: taking a FWD car to a track. Also a Type S = street. Why tf would they test a type S on track?
@da-yh3uy9 ай бұрын
well it goes to show how much you know. FWD cars that can out perform AWD and RWD cars for the price range? who complains about that
@Marbind9 ай бұрын
Funny thing is that if they take a CTR with the stock ps4s will lap a similar type as this ITS.
