I'm so not ok with people who don't know how to clap for other people's wins. My weight gain doesn't take anything away from your hard work to get/ stay in shape. My current financial situation is not changed by wishing I had more and your work and sacrifices are not diminished by the fact that I haven't done the same.

I’m a thin person, I’ve had my moments of weight gain but over all I’ve always been relatively thin. But it’s not because it just happens. I work hard to be thin and now to be fit. It’s extremely rude for someone to make comments that begin with “it must be nice.” If you have to start a sentence that way, it shouldn’t be said. Period. Love that you spoke out about that!

Christine and Dave all good advise. Sorry about the rude travel comment. I was going to visit my husband working on Maui. Flight prices were outrageous. The travel agent found a flight and hotel package that was half the cost of the flight. Score. Now everyone used credit cards for their travel miles. Had a young teller at my credit union pull up my account, she said "I wish I had your savings account". I said, " this didn't happen over night. I had $5.00 a week direct deposit into my savings since 1968". You can do this. Savings doesn't happen over night. My goal was to have two commas. By luck and longevity I was able to retire at 54 years of age. Happy 24 years for me. My son-in-law just retired at 55. You have to plan and have a goal.

Love these so much. Everyone needs a compliment now and again. Hey coworker, you nailed that presentation. Hey Mama, you’re doing a great job. Hey daughter, great game today or way to go on that test. I know you worked really hard on it. Hey husband, thanks for cooking dinner tonight or running the kids to practices or whatever. It’s those little things that can just make your whole day. Also, budgeting or not, I just love to watch the two of you hang out and chat. It’s so much fun to follow. You both bring such great ideas to the table and feed off of each other so well. I’ve been following you on KZbin for the last few years. I think Jen Chaplin mentioned your channel and after one video I was hooked. Anytime I find a clearance buy,(usually meat), I say the Frugal Fit Mom made me do it. ❤

I love listening to you "Money Takes"!! You have a great way of explaining money principles in a way that's understandable, relatable, and doable. I find "it must be nice" and similar comments to be very frustrating and sad. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. It takes work, be willing to learn, and be willing to make the changes and sacrifices necessary to reach your goals. You and Dave do a great job of explaining what you don't do, along with what you do do (insert 7 yr old boy laughter), and what you are learning so that you can achieve financial goals. Keep it up!

Whenever you give advice, there will be detractors. I like that you preach fiscal responsibility, and share the ways that you have become financially responsible. When I got married, my husband had very different financial goals than I did. For example, he had a dryer box filled with paperback books that he had purchased at full price that he only intended to read one time! I got him a library card and introduced him to thrift stores. Now, after more than 30 years of marriage, we are out of debt and have savings in the bank. It took a lot of hard work and sacrifice. I like that you said that you can save for anything you want, but that you can't have everything you want. Everyone has to decide what sacrifices make sense for them. Keep up the good work! (BTW, we've always had a one income household.)

Love your channels. Looking at the rental income from real estate, if Hailey is going away to college you might look at buying a condo or multi-family property near her college. That way she could have roommates pay for her housing and create an income stream down the road.

Omg that is so true, that happens all the time to my husband. Everyone says that he is so lucky forgetting all the trouble we went through. Moving twice to a new country with nothing, spending hour after work to learn English and living at a limit. A lot of people only see what you have now without acknowledging all the struggles you had to get there.

I got an unexpected 5k from a settlement. I went today and opened a 5 mo. CD @4.75 percent. I get a great s.s. and pension because I just retired this year at the age of 72. Working longer, I was able to sock more into my 401k. Maybe use CD funds to install a simple frugal backyard deck.😂

I appreciate the content you put out and your focus on saving money with a big family! I started watching you when my daughter was born and I went from 3 kids to four and I needed to save money. Other people tried telling me buying clearance food was not good for my family and I was wasting my time! Watching how well you take care of your family is why I enjoy shopping the way I do ♡♡♡ you're so encouraging and inspiring! Please know that even though not all people might like you posting about your trips, I love it! Me and my husband plan on giving your credit card tricks a try in two years when we have our credit where we want it ♡♡♡ I would love to be able to take all my kids places ♡♡♡

A lot of people do not see or do not want to see the hard work that goes into achieving a goal. For example you mentioned running/working out at 4am after taking care of your baby 's needs . Many people unless you tell them are not going to know you sacrificed personal time, time in the evening with your spouse so you could go to sleep early etc. It is irritating but....whatcha gonna do ? Nada ! Just keep moving forward. I do not do vacations, own a home etc was given a car that is now 15 years old. But I was able to retire early as I was willing to live frugally. I have little ss but am willing to work temporary jobs now and then to add to my income. It is about choices

Regarding being “looked at” at the Gym. I have had that happen. But I complained to management as well as to some acquaintances. Not only did management tell the guy if there is a second complaint he is banned, but the gym acquaintances now keep an eye out for me, so if anyone starts watching me or attempts to approach me they run interference for me. Being vocal made a huge change and now I am super comfortable every time i go to lift

There is nothing wrong on going to three or more grocery stores in one day. I typically go to the store on a Wednesday. Sam's Club Giant Dollar Tree and throw a few others. My time is more important than gas money at this point. I do plan my trip so I am not going back and forth. and yes It is a money thing going to more than one grocery. I am a big believer in value shopping too.

I'm listening on podcast and had to come over and comment. I've had comments about my weight (do you eat??? Are you anorexic???) for most of my life. Most of my family is on the thinner side and my hubby is only a few pounds overweight. In fact he's thin compared to most men. We eat out sparingly and push back from the table. I also go to the gym and am an active person. Being on the thinner side doesn't usually happen by accident!!!! Also the Maui comment irked me as I know how much you have sacrificed to go on nice trips and vacations. While they were chiding you, they were prob driving a newer car and eating out all the time or ordering from Door Dash. I don't even want to hear it!!! I personally drive a 23 year old car (yes its possible!!!!) so that I do not have a car payment. Also it keeps me from having to work a full time job when I would rather be at the gym!! Ok done ranting and back to the podcast. Just wanted you to know that I feel ya!!!❤❤❤
