One thing they need to do is give CW Sidious two sculptures. One with an open grin like the ROS and the ROS one needs a closed grin or blank expression. Same as CW as both of these versions are a lot more expressive than the Emperor

With this announcement I'm thinking that CW Sidious could/should have been Chancellor Palpatine (red robe) to maximize collector options. I can see many opting for this version instead.

Darth sidious is my favourite star wars villain, personally I am getting both of them as I can displayed him in different stages of his life, maybe one of them fighting with his lightsabers and the other one using the force Lightning hands

That's a great choice honestly! I think because both options exist one will sit for a bit, so not as much pressure if you ultimately want both. Especially if we also end up with a Palpatine from episode 1. And so many other cool things to come I'm sure of it . Thanks for tuning in!

I have both on preorder. That ROTS is the key Palpatine from the prequels. I’m on the fence about canceling my Clone Wars version. I need to see what final product looks like. This is a tough one. I already have sideshow Palpatine on throne. Do I need three of this guy??

@@TheBenThomasShow I'm an OT person first and foremost then prequels. I have some of the Mandalorian line and have three Ahsoka figures on pre-order. Didn't like how they brought Palpatine back in Rise of Skywalker but he's still my all-time favorite villain. To be honest, I pre-ordered the Clone Wars version because I wasn't sure they'd ever come out with another prequel version anytime soon. Now that they have this iconic ROTS I'm not sure. One thing I could do is keep Clone Wars and display him with hood down as "Chancellor Palpatine"

This was the perfect case for this and that. Very strange that they have done two versions of the same character in the same outfit. I honestly think this latest release makes the CW version pointless. I wish we had the red gown version from Palpatine’s arrest instead of the CW one.

I have the CW Sidious on PO and have already made payments on it. It’s the FIRST figure that I will see from announcement to release since being in this hobby. It’s my most anticipated figure. But man they just fucked my eyes out with this announcement lol.

Dude I think there could be a great argument to have both, but that CW one is amazing. The likeness is so good and seeing the expression he has is wild. I think they may do another version for ROTJ. @@TheBenThomasShow as of now the plan is hold true to the CW version and wait until this becomes closer to release. Ultimately, one could have this and just buy the CW sculpt and hands to have as swap outs if space was an issue. They know wtf they’re doin.
