One of the great tropes of farce...the unflappable waiter.

OMG !! You are right!! I have seen this movie sooo many times & also never get tired of it ..!! And LMAO - but I always keep watching ‘the window’ , Howard , Madeline Kahn - I don’t think I ever noticed the ‘waiter setting up dinner regardless of all the crazy mayhem there & mega noise..!!” Lol 😂😂 😅 I love it! ❤ 🥰

The funniest movie ever made. Thank you, cast, crew and Mr. Bogdonavich.

It’s easy to miss among all the chaos, but at 1:37, Howard lifts the curtain off the agent with the golf clubs, shakes his head as if to say “I don’t even have time to ask who you are,” and then throws the curtain back on top of the guy as he moves to put out the fire. An absolutely hilarious little moment! RIP Ryan O’Neal, who played this role to perfection.

This scene and others in the film could stand the match with another gem which is The party
@PAJA633 жыл бұрын
I like "The Party", and it's got lot of fine but disparate moments. That one mayhem seems, in my eyes, a bit mechanical. This one movie never does let your guard down, so here the trouble finding enough air to breathe (while ROTF) is almost constant. :-)

That was the style back then. Take a look at your older aunts' or even grandma's high school picture, I garauntee there is someone with that hair.

Ryan O'Neal was really a good actor, and very funny, but he didn't get credit for it because he was so great-looking.

The whole cast were good but definitely Madelaine Kahn was the stand out. Not a fan of farce and slapstick but this movie has held up very well - some great scenes that never get old.
