Man, you are the best, I was fighting this issue for 5 hours and tried all the small tricks the other MotherF... Hotpoint technician said in his video without any success! I just unscrew and remove the pump as you said, and miraculously I found a wipe inside :) Thanks a million for your help, you should have more views on this video!

Came home today to find my wife looking online for new washing machines. It’s flashing codes she says, must be broken… Quick KZbin search of F05 and it’s fixed !!! An old cloth covid face mask, the plastic spines from my boys dinosaur welly and part of my mrs dress where she threw it because it ripped !! Thanks for your post !!!

Thanks so much for the video. I had the F05 error and the filter was clean. Turned the machine over as per your video, undid the drain hose and boom, one of the kids small socks in there. Cleaned out, put back together and all working again. Thank you!

Thanks, I wish I tried this first. I pulled 2 coins behind the pump and a sock stuck in the plastic ball surely the F05 is sorted now. I think people should go straight to this method ,thanks again.

Thank god for this video I've been trying to fix the problem for hours trying to flush out the waste pipe and cleaning the propeller. Put your video on and problem solved. I had a sock in the pipe to the drum just like you.

There's a moral to this, so please bare with me... Recently bought a hotpoint wmfug 942, as i'm leaving the person I bought it from exclaims 'you may want to clean the pump when you get it home' (being straight and honest).. Get it home, throw clothes in it it, all washes perfectly.... However now when I try the drain spin cycle the drum won't even rotate, ended up watching a lot of these videos, and had I just thought for a split second, I would have just removed the outlet hose and ran the machine as I eventually did having removed and replaced, a pump, sensor, and hose. When it started pumping out water through the grey outlet hose, it was only then it occured to me i'd put an outlet stopcock inside the pipe to stop kitchen water billowing out every time I wash my crockery. Moral of the story is check the very first thing... We'll, first. Moral is sometimes you don't need experts, just what with hindsight is common sense.

Im having same trouble with mine, cleaned filter and found a kink behind washer, if i have to look further, is it just a case of tipping the washer over or is there a cover to undo too?

Hi Ashley, I’m not sure what do you mean. If you need to clean the drain tube tip your machine to the side where is the detergent holder, to avoid from water damage on main board. I cleaned from underneath.

Hi There, I'm going to attempt this, but did the first step to see if there was any obstruction in the filter, and found a hair tye, but I'm not convinced that was the issue. When testing the paddles, they did spin ok, but there was a bit of resistance, should this be the case? I can't see or feel anything else in there however, so wanted to check. Thanks so much.

Hi Elenor, Blockage could be after the paddles in the tube after the drum. May isn’t there anything, but it worths to check.

Recently acquired a hotpoint, the thing will not drain. I have checked the inlet and drain pipes from the washing machine and sink and the are all clean, I changed the drain pressure sensor, however when I blew through the thin black pipe, (that is connected to the blue sensor 021/022) I can hear water bubbling somewhere at the bottom of the pipe, I ran a thin rod, (with plenty of room) through the pipe and no obstruction. Initially only FO5 error, showed the H2O error once, but now FO5 again, is it unreasonable for a small pool to be retained in that part of the pipe as I drained the washing machine with nothing in the drum... My only guess is to remove, maybe replace the thin black hose.. Any other suggestions would be appreciated..

Firstly, if you remove that wide black tube (coming out from drum) from the pump and the water don’t flow, there is the blockage. Secondly, if you remove the waste pipe( grey) and blow in and air could flow, then pump is faulty. Check the pump, try to turn the paddles with a screwdriver, if you hear clickings, then pump is ok. If paddles are running easily the pump is faulty.

Hi, do you mean can’t open the door? And you have the F05 error code? Firstly, need to open the door and remove the clothes. I have video how to open the door and another video about blockage.

Hi , Access from the bottom, there is no cover. Turn to the side where the dispensers are.

Hi Matt, Is the pump working well? When you turn by your finger the paddle it makes clicking noise? That is the normal working. If not the pump is broken.

Sorry for the late reply. An idea: remove the filter lid and start a spin. No worries water won’t be involved, but you can see if the water pump is working. I don’t think this is sensor issue. F05 is water cannot flow.
