Never missed a concert in Chicago early & 70"s . Played Commander , New Riders , Poco , Flying Burrito Bros at every party I had. I still do the same today. It's Rockrageous.

I have this highly underrated album(ever since it came out in the 70's). Thanks for posting.

Underrated? It's always been one of my favorites...especially "Everybody's Doing It". That should have been in the collections, but I suppose someone thought it was too raunchy or some shit like that. I was working on building a playlist of songs with "fuck" in them. Three so far....this, The Rodeo Song by Garry Lee and Showdown (the one everyone seems to think is either David Allan Coe or Chris LeDoux), and The Tossers' Altercations. I may need to branch out and include songs that just have at least one "rude" word in them...I just can't think of another one just now.

My older brother had that album back in the 70s. My favorite song on it (and probably my favorite of Commander Cody) was always Sister Sue. Loved that raunchy sax solo by Andy Stein.

I'd give you a million thumbs up for that comment. Hot Licks is in my top ten ALL TIME favorite albums. I've lived my entire life based on a line from Lookin' at the World Through a Windshield, "Gotta beat that pace I'm settin' any time I can. Cravin' for a Sweet Thing is a favorite of mine too. Good comment Kloanguy1

It's to imagine any shows that top the CCLPA events at The Palamino Club North Hollywood circa 73-75 where some in the audience were moved to get up on the tables and dance along about halfway through the set. Most of the time ignited by Andy on sax or fiddle.

Thank you for Honeysuckle Honey. You are the only one who posted it, and I wouldn't have heard it if it weren't for you. Even though it's a flipside it's still one of my golden favorites.

It was released on CD, but apparently very short printed. I have it on vinyl. The CD goes for upwards of $100.

@PoetryHound What I wrote was a joke- about the typo- Bill KircheR-rather than KircheN! I have seen Bill about ten times and I have a nice photo of me with Bill and his wife Louise on my kitchen wall! When I first met him in 1980 I told him I learned guitar listening to him play. He looked serious and said "Gee, I hope you don't make the same mistakes that I do!" He's a lot of fun- like the band's name!

Collector's item? Gosh, I have the USA copy and the UK copy- where "Everybody's Doin' It" was censored and replaced by the shorter single version of "Watch My 38- much to the distress of people who were connoisseurs of 1930s hillbilly swing. I will request Honeysuckle Honey next time I see Bill Kirchen. I wonder what happened to Bill Kircher who played the guitar on this album?
