Hello. A belated fortuitous Veterans Day. A special Thank You to all that have served, are serving, and will at some point serve. Our freedoms, in this country, are the direct result of the goodwill of the few brave men & women that have stepped up for the protection of the many. Willing to go into harm's way. And at times, making the ultimate sacrifice by giving up their life. Also, an early Thanksgiving Day hope. That you & yours will have an enjoyable friends & family gathering where all involved have wonderful time of festivities. Blessing to all.

Gripping my armchair pretty hard watching the first two trees hung like that, but your plan of shaking things up coming from the other direction worked well. Then the bar pinch…well thanks for bringing us along on “one of those days” we all have them…it’s easy to edit that stuff out, but thanks for keeping it real and stay safe.

Evening Jack, that was fun ! You'll be pleased to know I had a day much the same today .... A master class in keeping a cool head when it's not going to plan. Oh I'm very much back in the cold !

Super Dave morning. Redwood country, never a dull moment, lol. Some days it's going with surgical precision. Some days it going like I only have 5 or so years under my belt. I'm thankful that the later is only once in a great while though. If a guy has not been hung up much then he also has not cut much. A faller's life. And, that chain was nothing to Bragg about either. Here it was summer and then winter it seemed. You have to be part duck to live on the beautiful Emerald Isle imho. Blessings to you and Mrs. outinthewood!

I've never cut redwood but a couple things I've learned from you is one has to deal with bark swell during the growing season, and the way younger redwood are oftentimes limb bound. But I have worked in brush holes and no matter what it's slow going so I know how that is. Plus it's hard not to get pinched when you can hardly see the log for the brush. I even get pinched when I can see lol. Happy Thanksgiving Jack!

Thanks Jack 😎 Everyone gets pinched sometimes. Like Dave said: “Masterclass” imho. I always learn something from you. God bless you and a have a good day, Andy 😎🙏🤙

Andy hi. Agreed. I will show a number of "things not to do"... Everyone who is doing any amount of bucking is going to get tangled up every once in awhile. Seems it is more toward the end of the day for me. It's along the lines of "those the haven't broken much,,, also haven't cut much... Thanks for stopping by Andy.

Mr. Jack, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well, the hang-ups and solutions were beautiful. With a couple-thousand filmed bucks, a stuck bar doesn't hurt your percentage at all. "On a personal note", I have been missing your content on shorter intervals, nevertheless, this was worth my wait...thank you sir...

Where in the world have you been???? You haven't put out a video in a while. It was good to see that MS 462 put in work because as we all know, STIHL RUNS THE YARD. 😊👍🏿 #stihlpower
@hotsaws101 Жыл бұрын
On a tree killing spree. For me, it would depend upon the saw, application, & cc class range. Just one example - The 394/5/592 spank the 066/660/661 for outright power and or stumping and or milling. So not always does Stihl win. Thanks for watching.
@awheel Жыл бұрын
@@hotsaws101 Will say Stihl has the ergonomics down for sure. Best for every job? Sometimes I think the newer stihl models focus too much on revs and not enough on pulling chain when ur buried.

I revamped a different cylinder assembly with an upgrade to Psy-Ko SuperSnarl. Then added my "patented" "Torque Tweak". Net result, a BarkMeister of a saw - because I'm not interested in wasting time, lol. Thanks for watching.

You ever get to tag along when there marking trees ? What's the process? To make your job "fun as can be" ..lol
@hotsaws101 Жыл бұрын
One time I called the cutting boss for Green Diamond. Everyone that had worked or was working at the time knows/knew who that guy is. Nobody calls on purpose... Had one of the head foresters & two techs show up. Multiple trees that either required a helicopter to lift off the stump or Hundini to work some magic. He had one marked in a class 2 zone. Asked him how I was supposed to get it out of the zone so the yarding crew (this was a cat block) could get it moved. He said, "well just send down there". It had one open shot. Down over a 30' cutbank, across the access road for the fallers working in the back of the unit, AND it was going to completely obliterate the class two creek with ¾ of the top. I paused for a moment. Then I asked if he & the tech guys were going to spend the afternoon swamping out the creek??? Because I'm not!!! Then out came the paint can... Took a couple of small ones and then there was a hole for it. We spent 2.5/3 hours going through that zone area remarking. In the end,,, the forester asked me if I was interested in marking trees, lol. What do they pay I asked? Never went marking... I was able to swing a few reds around some of the other extra marked trees and not take quite a few of them. The forestry crew was happy with that. They hire these wet behind the ears, fresh out of school techs a fair amount of the time. It's a challenge the majority of the time, lol. Thanks for watching.

Got a question I have been told don’t get blade into dirt I see you guys with end of chain in dirt and you lean on they. Guessing this does not hurt sharpness
@hotsaws101 Жыл бұрын
There is a big difference between dirt & duff. I'll saw in the duff a little here and there. Some of which you see in this video. I do my best to avoid at all costs the "art of sawing in the dirt". Thanks for watching.
