Missed you guys. Glad to see you put out another video. Getting some progress, but your need more than two screws in the field of that blue-board in the kitchen. Varying humidity can pop it loose as well as earthquakes or bumping the backside of the wall, it is looking good other than the lack of sufficient fasteners in the blue-board. I'll be seeing you next time, but please try not to leave us hanging so long. I like seeing your updates. Since I haven't seen you for so long, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Wow! Not sure if you've seen some previous videos when I mention my mom is from Nova Scotia! Well, she lives "out on the Mira" to be exact! Great to hear from some Maritimers! :)

Take pictures of all internal walls before insulting & drywall. Helps big time in future repairs‼️‼️‼️‼️Vinny 🇺🇸

Exactly! We took a ton of pictures to document where all the electrical lines and pipes were run.

Hey! I've missed you guys....actually got a little worried that something tragic may have happened. Glad to see all is good. Exciting to see everything coming together. I agree with your choice on the plumbing vents not going through the metal roof, especially in an area that gets a lot of snow. Those vent stacks get lots of stress from snow load, which then can create leaks in your roof. It's also not an issue running that vent horizontal...especially it being 3". You could have been fine with 2". The manufactured "I" joists are just fine to bore through as long as you follow the manufacturers' specs on hole size, spacing from other penetrations, and spacing from bearing points. I wouldn't worry about transitioning the kitchen vent to 3"...not needed. I'm excited that you are planning T&G on the ceilings, that's going to look awesome. The main living area will look great with a mount hanging on the wall. An idea for your railing is to use log posts and top rail with tree branches woven as infill. My buddy did this in his cabin and it looks awesome! Anyway, good to see an update....hope to see more soon. Oh, by the way, you will want to put a trap loop in the condensate drain and install a ph neutralizer because the condensate from a boiler is very acidic. It can eat right through your drain pipes over time.

I'm glad that things are progressing and that you haven't encountered anything which is insurmountable. As a retired lecturer, I do sympathise with all the marking (grading) she has to do.

You mentioned the portion in the loft being a storage area, what about putting in a small door in, rather than having to get a ladder to get into the storage area from down below? Just a thought.

Yes, there was supposed to be a little portal framed in at the end close to the overhang, but it didn't happen. Another side project!

Be very wary of textured finishes, they pick up dust etc and when you get bored with them you cannot get them off !!

I think if you guys had built with ICF roofing, the house was finished already... no extra roof insulation, and much less construction material, had saved on labor and much less money spent with layers and layers of insulation!

I like the ICF walls, but I think for the ceiling the best way to go is SIP or Structual Insulated Panels, ICF walls and SIP under the rafters is quick, neat and very effective IMHO

Im am going to use in my icf project very soon INSUL-DECK for my roof, this will make me save about 50% labor, and much more in insulation and vapor barrier products, and with all money and time saving I can go and invest on Tesla Solar Roof.

What a total mess. How about using a broom and a vacuum. Should be done daily...
