Prices have definitely cooled down. Town houses were going for over a million dollars and they weren’t even IN Toronto.
@kost40602 жыл бұрын
It was all for show, politicians dont actually want to crash the prices since it would ruin the majority of Canadians real estate owners which is higher than the demand for real estate but if you look like you're trying to solve the problem then you can get the young vote. In reality a lot of the problems stem from zoning laws, red tape on building and overall labour costs (some places require unions for trade work and that increases the cost of labour by double).

Read the message on the Frankenstein House. It's from Vancouver Canada. It's a really unfortunate story where the renters would put up amazing inflatables each Christmas, Halloween, Easter etc. on a relatively busy street so it got lots of traffic. The community loved it. Unfortunately the house sold and the renters weren't able to stay in the house. Now each time I drive by the house at Christmas, it reminds me of what used to be an amazing display on my commute home.

Hey Graham, it seems like you tend to always mention homelessness as a negative of California and are always asking "where does the money go?" when it comes to taxes. You also said "there's no system in place" to fix the problem. In actuality, it is true that California has some of the worst rates of homelessness by population. However, California seems to be doing more than many states when it comes to this issue. Project Homekey has worked since 2020 to buy up and renovate hotels, motels, and other multifamily properties to provide affordable housing for homeless individuals. I lived in California for much of my life, and while I live in Chicago now I have seen California work much harder on creating housing inventory. Although as you mention in other videos, zoning for more affordable housing does seem to be a big issue in creating sustainable growth of inventory particularly in dense areas.

Why would anyone buy a townhouse by the gross beaches in LA? I would go north or south. Santa Monica pier beach is nasty. There are aggressive break ins in the palisades. Venice is disgusting now. What is the point of being in LA anymore? There are literally potholes all over the freeways, encampments full of drugs crime and trafficking and the added expense of earthquake insurance. And crumbling infrastructure. There’s no way Shelby or Graham are using Cali as their primary residence. The financial hit is severe to be taxed as a primary resident. But the medical care in so cal is hard to beat. So I imagine that you still want a place in LA as you get older or need care.
