Jace, Rhaenyra's heir, is angry about Luke's murder and Baela's dragon is faster than his. Plus, they only have 6 dragon riders at Dragonstone: Rhaenyra who is the queen and the Green's biggest target, Jace who is angry enough to do something impulsive if he sees Vhagar or Aemond, Joffrey who is 6 years old, Baela who seems to have better restraint than Jace, Rhaenys who is patrolling the Gullet and Daemon who went to Harrenhal. Rhaenyra didn't expect Daemon to change, she says it herself she was a child who was groomed and she hates more than anything that he didn't tell her. She couldn't get ahead of the Jaehaerys news because he didn't tell her about his backup plan being the kid and she now looks either like an infant killer or incompetent.

I guess because of the pacing of the show, theres a lot of characters that aren't being fleshed out properly. I don't understand it, because theres plenty of opportunity for it since they're only focusing on mainly two different factions, Greens and Blacks. One bug complaint last season was that Daiman was supposed to have a close relationship to his daughter (as seen int he books) but that seems to be continuing on to the second season of Daimon basically ignoring her.

Corlys didn’t really react to the news his brother died at all he even said “he was too ambitious”. He didn’t care. His brothers words harmed him too because the boys even tho they’re “bastards” they have the name VALERYON, and since his own son was obviously lgbt he wouldn’t have other heirs and he wants to have his name in history he also said “history remembers NAMES not blood”. Also if Rheneryas sons marry the daughters of Daemon (who have the VALERYON blood) and if they would have heirs they would not only be of REAL Valeryon blood from Baela, but also named Valeryon because of Rheneryas sons. Therefore Corys and Rhenys are okay with that because that’s how their family survives.

I’m Team Black for two core reasons: 1) Viserys said what he said. Everybody wanna hold the crown in high regard until the crown does something they don’t like. The king spoke and the Greens tried to backdoor around his wishes. 2) The worst thing Rhaenyra ever did was try to fulfill her duty without completely compromising her own happiness. She’s selfish but not cruel or ambitious or shady. She won’t back down. That’s all. Also note: the Greens are doing all of this manipulating to put somebody they KNOW is a sadist and a rapist on the throne. Aegon doesn’t care about his son as a person. Watch again. He only ever showed interest in him when it came to “legacy.” Aegon doesn’t care about the realm, either. He only likes being king when it means people admire him. His darker character goes dormant when he gets what he wants. When he’s entertained. What happened as soon as sh*t stopped going his way? Back to overkill with violence. Never ever forget that Aegon used to let his bastard children be put into CHILD FIGHTS. They shaved the kids’ teeth down to make them sharper. He liked watching those. So frankly, although it was awful and stupid on Daemon’s part, Aegon kinda deserves to have his baby done dirty. Sins of the father. You don’t outgrow that, or rape. Aegon is rotten to the core. Daemon said a son for a son, he knew if they didn't find Aemond that there was a high likelihood that a child would be killed. Just because this takes place in a savage world doesn't absolve anyone. Killing children is still very much looked down upon in that world as it is today in ours, and that's exactly why Otto used Jahaerys death as a way to get in good graces with the people, and smear Rhaenyra as a heartless child killer.. Aemond genuinely didn't want to kill Jace. Daemon didn't care who was killed, so long as it was a son that died. I think it’s less about judging Rhaenyra, and more about distrusting anything good in the HOD series. Especially right after she said it doesn’t do her any good to let her go. So I was suspicious of why she suddenly changed her mind, but hoping she’d just needed the minute to think about it. Rhaenyra was a child when she was interested in Daemon and married him at a young age. She never fully understood his motives or behavior, which she mentions in their argument. Yes, she married him but it was with a child's fantasies at heart. These recent realizations are just that, recent. I believe Daemon's actions have made her see his true audacity and capability, and Rhaenyra is just now understanding the implications of having a relationship with him just like Viserys took decades to realize and act on.

She knew Daemon had many faults yes, but I’m not sure arrogance, hard-headedness, and impulsiveness (all common for high borns with dragons) equated to child murderer in her mind. There’s also that air of naivety she has(d) for him as her childhood love (groomer) and uncle. That was a Daemon call, not Rhaenyra...as y'all saw, she was stunned by it happening AND being blamed on her, especially after losing TWO kids in the same 72 hr period smh It's wild to not be on Rhaenyra's side, on the strength of her father naming her his heir. Patriarchy aside, that should've been the end of it! Also, I wish that Rhaenyra hadn't left the Red Keep after that dinner, but her being there solo, while pregnant, would've made her the easiest mark.

It’s Crispins fault because he’s the commander of the king guard and the queen doesn’t have her own sworn guard??????!!! That is his fault bc that is his call and it’s probably because he didn’t want to get caught with the dowenger queen by one of his kings guardsmen(whoever he would have told to protect the queen) Because there’s no way that being that close by they wouldn’t hear or see something Crispin Cole is the captain of the king guard, and therefore should have assigned the queen and her children their own guard
