House of the Dragon Episode 1 REACTION!! ‘The Heirs of the Dragon’

I love the reactions of those who don’t know much about the show. Matt is my Doctor, but pretty early in, he had become Daemon. I was pleased because he has such a distinctive face. But Matt’s a terrific actor and he’s absolutely killing this part.

First of all, loved your reaction. 22:19 No mam , they clearly showed what he really feels for his Neice & Brother in the Funeral scene. Also , if you paid attention Daemon Agrees with Viserys , His smile when he was hearing them in stealth says "yeah , My brother knows me".

The parallel from rheanerya and her mother convo that said childbirth is the woman's battlefield cutting back and forth from her birth to the men's joust battlefield is brilliant. Also , look at the shape of the joust battlefield, looks like a VJJ, with a joust battle happening inside of it.

Prince Daemon (the king's younger brother, played by Matt Smith) is not mad or unhinged. He's IS arrogant, violent/vicious, selfish, proud, and utterly tactless, but has some charisma and is quite a good fighter. He loves three beings - his brother Viserys, his dragon Caraxes, and himself. And yes, there are feelings for his niece, Princess Rhaenyra, that are more than those of a kindly uncle.

Rhaenyra might not have official training, but she has sat in on council meetings for years because of her position as cupbearer. So, while there is definitely room for improvement, she's not as far back in a ruling education as you might think.

Targaryens do love incest. King Viserys and Daemon's parents were brother and sister and Princess Rhaenys' parents were aunt and nephew. Queen Aemma was Viserys' first cousin. Her mother was a Targaryen and sister of Viserys' parents and Rhaenys' father. That's why Aemma had the silver hair as well.

For a better context. The mother was going to die no matter what. A lot of people misread that. The only choice was to save the baby or they both die if they can't get that baby out.

Yes but that wasn’t Viserys choice to make it was hers, he and the maester took that choice from her and didn’t even tell her what was happening that’s the horror of the scene.

^Agreed but I’ve seen a lot of people who ignore that Viserys took the choice away from her or even deny it, so I think it’s important to acknowledge that should’ve been her choice.

Criston's weapon is not a mace, but a flail (which is the general name for all weapons where the dangerous part is attached to the stick you hold by a chain); this is a spiked flail in particular. It can also be noted that if it were a spiked ball attached directly to the end of the stick without the chain it would still not be a mace, as that weapon is called a morning star. A mace typically has a blunter end and is typically made entirely out of metal, all in order to be more effective at bludgeoning, whereas a morning star typically has a shaft made of wood due to how the spiked ball is meant to serve as a piercing weapon instead.

24:01 Alicent's age is left quite ambiguous in the show, and I've seen answers from various sources ranging from 14-17. I recall reading Alicent's actress saying she interpreted her as 15 or there around, though, so I suppose her being 15-16 years old (to Rhaenyra's 14-15) is a fairly safe estimation!

Alicent in the books is much older then Rhaenyra, she's like 18 and Rhaenyra is 9

Loved the reaction, especially that you went into the childbirth scene. That was so horrifying, Jesus Christ. Daemon is a fantastic character. I love that you picked up on him loving his brother. Because he does. Daemon has many faults, but he loyal to family. Subtitles might be a good idea 👍 Looking forward to the next one!

Daemon Targaryen is the favorite character of writer George R.R Martin, he said that Daemon Targaryen is made of light and darkness, is good and bad, is a human gray character who does good things and bad things. But he loves his family and he does everything for his family.

In which Viserys kills his own wife in cold blood while the audience uhs and oohs. Good reaction. Wish you kept Criston Cole's intro to the girls. Daemon is a fed herring. It's not Daemon Targaryen who is the jumpoff point of the story. It's Cole meeting the two girls.

It's a great show, thanks for your choice. It misses some elements from the Game of Thrones though, like humour and mystery. Still I enjoyed it very much. LIke Game of Thrones thereare some scenes, where you just have to look away (like I did and saw you do), because they are very brutal, like the child birth scene. As with GoT the acting is very good and the characters are interesting. All the best for the episodes to come and warm regards from the Netherlands!

There are Targaryens who are madness because of dragon dreams they had and people who poison their minds.
