When Blood and Cheese asked Damon “what if we can’t find him” the scene cuts off and they later reveal that he said “a son for a son” so Damon was well aware that either way someone’s son was going to die that night. Also Ser Criston Cole who was announced commander in the 10 day time jump was in charge of guarding the “king’s” family quarter but we all know what he was doing instead. Viewers speculate that he told all the guards to take leave from the halls, that’s why Helaena was not able to find any.

Hear me out, Daemon smirks as that scene cuts away just as he does several other times. Blood and cheese inferred that as Daemon saying that they could kill any son because of their perception of Daemon’s character just how a lot of people in the audience are inferring the same thing. Daemon did not care if another son died but he did not also explicitly ask for another son to be killed.

In Helaena's first scene before Aegon enters the room looking for Jaehaerys, Helaena whispers "They only want the boy" and after saying that she is afraid of rats, she looks directly at Jaehaerys' crib, she did predict death of him in a prophetic dream.

I saw a theory that Helaena was making her sons funeral clothes in the beginning when Aegon was looking for Jaehaerys in the beginning. She was scared of the rats because she knew they were gonna come and kill the boy since she has her premonition dreams.

The reason why Aegon brought his son is because he wants him to more involved than Viserys was with him. He wants him to feel love and that he was always meant to be heir because Viserys never did that with him. I just love multilayered characters, man. It's good stuff 😁

Guys in the book they don't go after Aemond to kill him, but rather one of Aegon's sons. Rhaenyra lost Lucerys, now Aegon has lost a son as well. "An eye for an eye, a son for a son, Lucerys will be avenged" and was avenged.

In the books Daemon literally did order Jaherys to be killed as they knew it would wipe out Helaena as a dragonrider and take out Aegon's heir. He was an asshole. Instead of sneaking his ass in himself and killing Aemond.
