I've been enjoying the Daemon dream/wake sequences, it is peak ASOIF, cryptic dreams and visions, the unclear extent of magic clouding his experience, confronting his nightmares, going through big personal transformation (& agree this is why multiple episodes were needed to do this). I'm into the mystery of Alys Rivers and what her magical powers are. Seasmoke seeking out Addam was awesome and shows an agency and inner life to the dragons. Sad that it probably means Laenor has died offscreen. My best guess as to why Addam can even ride is because the Velaryon/Targaryen families intermarried several times over the generations, so it's plausible Addam has a Targ ancestor who contributes his dragon blood. Or maybe Corlys has a type, and his mum was a Targ bastard herself. I don't think it's just Valyrian ancestry that lets you dragonride. Best book theory is that specific family bloodlines can bond only with specific lineages of dragons. i.e. all Targ dragons are descended from a particular ancestor(s), that went through Valyrian blood magic ritual(s) with a Targaryen predecessor. (This ritual is hinted in the opening credits: a man stabs a kneeling woman whose blood flows into/around a dragon) There were other dragonlord houses in Old Valyria, and probably some of their descendants survive in Westeros- but those other families' dragons are all extinct. Seasmoke is a Targaryen dragon and bonded to Targaryen blood: Addam must be a Targ somehow. I hear you on the absence of black characters. It is certainly a choice. Ironically there is actually a fan-favourite black female dragonrider character in the books who seems to have been written out of the show (looks like maybe Rhaena will be given her storyline). Corlys does know both brothers are his sons - he breaks the ice with Alyn first because he saved his life. The books say Corlys did not previously acknowledge either son because Rhaenys would have been livid & probably fed him to her dragon. Making her super chill about it in the show makes Corlys' decision harder to understand.

@osman732 it's really interesting knowing how the show diverges from the books. C-smoke is awesome and it's dope to know the dragons know who they want to f with and who to bun up lol! It corroborated what Viscerys said about dragons having no masters really, and that will be the Targ downfall!
