About Jace and Rhaenyra : I understand that she is frustrated to keep on hearing that she needs Daemon and the rivermen (I would be too, it's F exhausting) But after the Seasmoke debacle. It's only fact, she is diminished. By keeping Jace out of the loop when it comes to her secret plans with Mysaria isn't she just antagonizing another ally? The one she can trust, the one who didn't abandoned her. The one who is supposed to be her heir ? (I'll keep him on the loop on everything just in case I get got, almost did at the hand of evil twin Arryk) That's how they did it in real monarchy. They prepare them very young, very fast and they have to know all the nooks and crannies. (Treasury, army, spies, tithes) How does "we need Daemon and the rivermen" turned into "my own son doesn't trust me" he is just stating facts. It says we need soldiers and that red dragon to fight this war. It doesn't say, I trust stepdad over you. Is she an idiot ? Or the writers are ?

He wasn't counseling he was reprehending and commenting (Foreseeable - sensational) he forgot himself worst than Ser Alfred Broome before she sent him away to go to Daemon. He was a model of restrain in comparison if you think about it 🤣 But Jace only did right about her and only questioned her when she did questionable ish. Falling out of the face of the earth (when she went to king's landing) and not naming any hand to hold the fort in her absence. (and it did cause problems as Rhaenys predicted (rest in dragon fire) Even now at the end of episode six. She leaves without a word. My mom is no queen and isn't in danger of death cause she isn't a person of interest and we aren't at war. But I tell you if she pulls that shit, there will be hell to pay. We aren't throwing hands but she is going to hear words in an acidic tone. The word responsible precedes the word adult in "responsible adult" and you don't give diarrhea to those who care about you. You torture your enemies not your loved ones.

I think even Rhaenyra herself knows how valuable Daemon is to the war effort, so I don't think she necessarily disagrees with Jace or that she thinks his suggestions are wrong (she even sent Ser Alfred to try and get a responce from Daemon). But we know from her last conversation with Daemon that she does not trust him, and now he won't even respond to her messages. If he had been mentioned just once, I don't think she would've snapped af Jace like that. But the constant mention of Daemon while she's not even sure if he's on their team still plus the fact she has been doing other things to try and help the war effort, I think it all just built up into that reaction. But I 100% agree she needs to be keeping others in the loop as well, especially Jace, who has been so helpful and is the heir to the throne. If she kept him informed about her plans, he might not suggest Daemon all the time lol

I love this episode. This season has been somewhat slower than S1 but I have loved the character building and the storylines that we're following. I feel confident this whole season is a set up for next season's bigger battles. I thought this was a solid episode and it certainly has me conflicted about characters that I can't stand. I find myself interested in their stories now. George RR Martin is diabolical, isn't the? Lol Enjoyed your reaction as always Jimmy.

I keep seeing a lot of people being frustrated by Daemon's storyline. While I do agree it probably could have been condensed a bit, I've been really enjoying all of it. I think getting this interior look at him is really interesting, and he very much needed to confront all of this stuff within himself. That's all about personal preference though, and I get feeling like its just spinning its wheels. I've really liked this season overall though, and it hasn't felt slow or meandering to me, but rather more character focused. I definitely don't agree with people saying that they are "softening" the female characters and that only the men have bad traits. I also read Fire and Blood, and the accounts about the personalities of characters like Alicent and Rhaenerya are very contradictory. It's meant to be written like a history book, and George RR Martin has talked about its unreliable narration being very intentional. You are meant to question the conclusions that the book comes to about why characters do what they do, or what their motivations really were. Take beheading the young prince. In F&B, one claim says that Rhaenerya wanted the child's head brought to her personally as a kind of trophy, while another says that she wasn't involved at all and wept when she learned what had happened. In fact. one thing F&B *is* consistent on is her reluctance to kill or harm her own kin, and that's very much something that has been carried forward into the show. This is similar with Alicent. In F&B, one account says she wanted to *bathe in the blood* of the families of "Blood and Cheese" after what they did, while yet another claims no such thing was ever said. So much of Fire and Blood has to be taken through the context of how it is written. Which is 1, well after everyone involved was dead, and 2 all of the sources used within it come with their own biases. The *events* described in the book are meant to be accurate, but we *cannot* know the interior thoughts or motivations of basically all the characters. Particularly during this part of the story because it has so many conflicting accounts, and those accounts are in turn being given by people with their own biases. All of which is to say, in my opinion I think the show makes them feel far more like real people than in F&B, and it's something I really like about how it is adapted.

I feel this season would have benefited from following the GoT format more rather than locking in on a few locations. Especially if you're going to give a character a slower arc you have to balance it out with more exciting stuff. Like it would have been great to get an Otto POV after he got booted to show him on the alliance trail in the Reach or Alicent's other son that they keep talking about. It's problem with Rhaenyra too but it really stands out with Daemon.

I suppose Fire & Blood being written differently and not having POV characters could mean they're having some difficulty figuring out how to balance all the different storylines the way GoT did. One thing i can't shake is WHY they didn't introduce Daeron in this season, or do what you're suggesting with Otto. At first i would have thought "oh maybe there's already too much going on and too many new characters", but then i remembered that they cut TWO WHOLE EPISODES when they rewrote the season....so there's really no excuse

Aemmond disregarding Larys the way he did was a BIG mistake. I thought he would be smarter than that. But clearly he is letting the power go to his head. As much as I dislike Aegon, I'm not against an Aegon-Larys teamup. I was delighted to see Viserys again. I hoped an opportunity would arise with Daemon's visions. That last scene between them was the most touching brotherly moment on the show.

I think Aemond is a badass, but he is still young and inexperienced. What he has in ruthlessness, he lacks in knowledge. That's his weakness. I like daemon 's story this season so far. Alys is right: every time he feels uncomfortable, he flees. Now he is being forced to reckon with his past and his flaws in a way he can't hide from. It's like what theon went through, but physically less torturous. It just remains to be seen whether this leads him to be more or less of an ally to rhaenyra.

i think the first guy failed to tame seasmoke because seasmoke LET him get on and he acted like he made seasmoke submit. had to put him in his place ya know. also that was a skyrim-ass dragon encounter later... the more heinous aemond is the more i like him. just such a bastard. the kiss between those two characters was not originally in the script so i wouldnt count on it amounting to much of anything. was a weird moment for it imo, but i find pretty much all of the sex or romance scenes in this show completely uncompelling.

Daemon might be one of my favorite characters but the story line with him in this castle with all these visions is very boring 😂 I'd just kill the girl and If that didn't stop the visions I'd burn the whole castle down so no one else could have it, then leave (I know it's a big stronghold)

I am so over Daemon's story arc; I know it's building up to something, and maybe I'd have enjoyed it if it was compressed into two episode, but man has been stuck there fore 6 episodes now! It's getting kind of grating. As for Frenchie and Rhaenyra, it occurred to me as I watched the scene that it was quite similar with Feet and Aegon scene? Obviously, minus the make out session, but the way they both try to relate to the Queen/King. She gives me the same vibes as Larys, opportunists and survivors. Seasmoke claiming Addam was my favourite part of the episode!

I don't like the writer of Daemon in this season. In defense of Daemon : -Harrenhall is torturing the ish out of him (an already tortured soul) in that state of mind and sleeplessness good decision making is out of the window. In prosecution of Daemon : -Using the Blackwoods to subjugate the Brackens was moronic. He should have used a more neutral player who was going to obey to the letter instead of using it as an excuse to punish an ancestral enemy. -I would have bailed out of Harrenhall after leaving some blackwoods as garrison and I would have used Riverrun as a gathering base : 1-better sleep 2-It's the seat of the lord paramount of the river-lands. I can gather the river men there. They might be confused on if they should listen to a dying man or his child grandson or they should wait for the first to die to follow the second. But they are sure as ish to obey the guy with the silver hair and red dragon. -Then I march them to Harenhall. (And I make camp outside with half of them) I see you coming : (It's not a strategic advantage to sleep outside of a castle it defeat the purpose) Well the castle is not that fortified after being cooked and have a two magical words for you : "trench" and "palisade" the romans managed to make camp in less than one day. spades, dirt, axes, forest chop chop. (and everything is better than sleeping on the weirdwood bed)

Jimmy have some patience with Aemond. His plan with the triachy will pay divends. We just won't see it until next season unfortunately. Bringing otto back is a decent move as well. Sending cole to harrenhal with the lannisters was a good move as well. Although i will admit, getting rid of alicent and insulting Larys was a bad move. Aemond has a lot to learn, but he is still much more competent than Aegon the dummy.

Season 2 is such a backslide in terms of plot progression and inclusion of separate factions. We've been stuck on 3 plotlines at 3 locations for 6 episodes and it's been the same shit. Rhaenrya on Dragonstone being mad at the men around her. Alicent in Kingslanding being mad at the men around her. Daemon at Harrenhal being mad at himself This season has been such a dissapointment and butchering of the source material. I really wish more people were willing to talk about the biased storytelling with the Women in this series. Alicent is one of the most frustratingly incompetent characters ive ever seen and Rhaenrya's arc has been treated with Kids gloves and has ignored all of her flaws. And dont even get me started on how they handwaived Rhaenys's murdering of the civilians in the Dragonpit. I really wanted to see the relationship of Aemond and Aegon but nope. I wanted to see some more development on Criston cole as a character but nope. And i really wanted to see Corlys Velaryon grow but nope they've treated the women in the series with kids gloves and have pushed all the evil onto the men. Alicent wasn't the one who plotted to put her son on the throne,all the men Around her wanted it and she's innocent. Rhaenrya isn't a flawed person with habit of creating enemies out of friends or raised as spoiled princess all her life or force herself on Criston cole,all the men around her just don't like her cuz she's a woman And rhaenys murdering the Civilians in the dragonpit was a girlboss move.

The show runners have said more than once that they are planning on four seasons. MAYBE five if it ends up feeling like they need more time. And the "six chapter story" covers a pretty big period of time. The actual war only takes place over a few years, but the setup given by the first season helps us to get here. Where we are left with two, maybe three, more seasons to tell a story that takes place over a few years. That seems like a perfectly reasonable amount of seasons to me?
