I don't think Prince Damon, would have done that. Not to his brother whom he really do/did love. Damon, thought his brother was weak but he loved him.

The Grand Maester Conspiracy is better described as the Oldtown Conspiracy, as it involves House Hightower, the Citadel, AND the Starry Sept of the Faith of the Seven. The Hightowers have the political and financial influence, the Citadel has what passes for science, and the Faith provides a totalitarian ideology that goes all the way back to their origins in Andalos on the continent of Essos (where they were unsuccessfully trying to fight off being conquered by the Valyrian Freehold). It's not so much an opposition to magic (they seem to tolerate the Alchemists Guild in Kings Landing), but rather opposition to ANY power that threatens theirs, whether it be weirwood trees or Valyrian sorcery (and of course Valyrian dragons). I don't see any evidence to suggest that Daemon was behind Emma and Baelon's death, as he was a bit preoccupied at the time with the tourney. Plus, Emma had had multiple pregnancy complications in the past (like many women with Targaryen blood), so while the Maesters could have been involved, it's probably more of a feigned ineptitude when it comes to their healing skills due to their lack of scientific rigor. Remember that in the main show, they had the ability to cure greyscale (at least in its early stages), but it wasn't until Samwell Tarly followed the instructions in an old book that it was shown to work.

The Grand Maester Conspiracy thing still gets me. Yes it has credence, but some people have it go too far tbh The guy who cured greyscale died from it. They knew how to do it, but they didn't bother cause then you'd lose more Maesters, and unless it was in a baby like Shireen, then its hard to do. Samwell got lucky

@@thalmoragent9344 Samwell got lucky - by reading the book and following the instructions….how is that “lucky”? Meanwhile, you’re just regurgitating Archmaester Ebrose’s claims, a man whose only claim to fame is giving Samwell a bunch of old books to transcribe, one of which just happened to be High Sepon Maynard’s account of him marrying Rhaegar and Lyanna.

@@markgross6006yes, Samwell got lucky. He followed the instructions yes, but the very Maester who made that book also died. Not from old age, but from Greyscale. They have the cure, but they put it to the shelf when they realized it's too dangerous outside of dealing with the very first stages of it, in a young person like Shireen as a baby. Do I agree with the decision? Not entirely, but I understand why it was ultimately left in the background, it's very risky. Granted, it's also dumb how apparently, they just seemingly had a record of Rhaegar/Lyanna getting married and didn't do anything with it or speak to anyone after the fact, not even Ned himself (not telling Robert would've made sense I guess) but still The last seasons of GoT shouldn't be used as serious referencing anyways tbh. 😅

I’ve never believed Daemon wanted to be King, not ever. He championed his brother’s ascendancy but even when married to Rhaneyra he never made any moves to sit on the throne nor rule. Daemon did like the power that came with being a Targaryen prince but I believe it’s because he felt others were beneath him. Even the whole “Heir for a day” may not have even happened as it was a story told to get rid of him by Otto so Viserys would rely on Otto n his council vs listening to Daemon who felt they make the rules of the kingdom n they are above everyone else. Idk but I’ve read Fire n Blood multiple times n it never seemed like Daemon wanted to be King, as many times as people would say that about him. His actions never seemed to marry to that thought process.

I wholeheartedly agree with you daemons actions never lead him down a path that would place him upon the Iron Throne

Most probably, the conspirator is Otto Hightower. Daemon didn’t have any intention to kill Emma, But daemon had some intention to become a king, become we saw he criticized the council. When the tourney happened, Otto was passing some messages secretly we saw in the show

Otto was being informed of the labor process, not behind any murder 😅

Although both options make for interesting theories but I don’t believe Daemon could have instigated the murder of his brother’s wife and son! Yes he was ambitious, yes, he and Viserys fought “their battles” but these Targaryen brothers loved each other! Daemon supported his Brother when the council decided over who follows on the throne! Maybe it’s show-only: but Daemon seemed to have suspicions about Viserys’ rapidly decreasing health (even smelling the tea for pain relief if that could have been poisoned). As likely as it may seem, I don’t really believe that Otto planed the death of Emma and the baby. He just set up his chess pieces into position to play the GOT from there. The Maesters are more likely - if it was any conspiracy at all. But they gave advice based on the mother’s and baby’s condition and the medical knowledge they had at that time. In the end it was Viserys who agreed to the C-section, being informed about the queen likely dying from blood loss and the vague hope of the surviving of the heir. Child mortality and women dying from complications were all too common and just unfortunate.

I don't think Otto had anything to do with Aema and Balon's deaths. I don't think the timeline supports it. Alicent was still quite young at the time to be setting her up as Viserys' consort. I think that only after the king's wife died and they really needed a male heir is when Otto thought to push is daughter on the king. I think that Aema's death was a result of the incessant inbreeding between the Targaryens. She had a genetic disorder that just couldn't sustain child bearing. She mentioned how many times she had lost a child in the first episode I think. So it was foreshadowing her ultimate fate, which was very, very sad. As far as Aemond goes in killing one of his nephews I think we all know why he did that. Had they not lost Luceris I don;t think he would've sanctioned his nephew's death. He was only balancing what he thought was the scales at that time.

Everyone assumes Otto, but never once in the books or even in the show has it even been alluded too. Same for Daemon; sure he's a wild card but even then, killing Viserys' wife or child in this particular case isn't something I see him doing honestly. Nobility and Royalty, smallfolk and the like, have had plenty women in their ranks die to childbirth, and its not always a conspiracy or plot that leads to one or both members dying... sometimes it just happens
