I'm a new subscriber but the moment you said the first part of this series had you think about Black Wall Street, you are so right. As a Black man, I truly feel if the Black people from that time had the power to strike back and defeated the oppressors, who know what the US would have become. I love the way you think sir. Whew...this was a hell of a start! Xavier is finally making things happen on his terms. Magneto isn’t to be messed with. I also liked the confirmation of the Omega Level Mutants. I wonder if Franklin will crossover to Xavier’s side. I can’t wait to start reading Powers of X!

I've heard a theory that this isn't the rise of the X-Men, but the rise of the Brotherhood, that Magneto is really in charge and that Prof. X is either being controlled by the Maker or that he actually is the Maker (the two dress very similarly, too similar to be a coincidence in Hickman book when Hickman made the Maker the character he is known to be). Maybe the reason all of these villains will be on these teams in the upcoming mutant team books is because maybe the heroes are either being manipulated/controlled, or maybe they just stopped giving a crap. They've tried coexisting with the humans, but after this one offer to reap the benefits of friendship with the mutant nation, they've basically had enough. They'll make it a comfortable inevitable decline for homo sapiens, but they're taking charge now.

1) I probably missed a video but WHEN DID XAVIER COME BACK?! 2) the flowers of krokoa seem to be too good of a deal for humanity. My bet is that they're placebo effect at best or Xavier is also some how mind-f***ing everyone. True, its all there in black and white. I could definitely attribute a lot of this to other incidents across the globe and throughout history. That was just the first one that came to mind. I think a lot of commentary is happening here! A LOT! I haven't gotten confirmation from Hickman himself but he hasn't denied any of it either. The mutants have all the high cards and are playing with house money... Meanwhile, humanity is fucked. And that builds a lot of resentment. I guarantee. By the end of this we will see a similar outcome. Maybe not exactly, but close.

If things going the way I think it's going to go than their will be only three powerful nations on earth, and they would be Wakanda, Atlantis, and the new X Haven. I say this because in the future comics (the one where it's sometimes a what if) it always have Wakanda still being on top. But in BP annual 1 Storm and T'Challa got remarried and had kids, and if I'm not mistaken it did hinted mutants were growing in numbers. Also I agree with you humans have been fucking with the mutants for far to long, but I doubt all humans will be Extinct but if it does......I'm for it lol

I think a lot of times, and I've noticed this on Rob's channel as well as others, they tend to not want to talk about the REAL deeper issue because they'll be perceived as "being too political"... Yup. Pretty much by the time this event is over, EVERY mutant will be back pretty much. The solicits for the X-titles coming out after this all have multiple characters who dead up until now. As for Krakoa itself, I think House of X #2 is the issue Hickman said would blow everyone's minds. I think that's where we learn more definitively whats going on with all these dead mutants and how they're back.

I never agreed with the ranking of Creed's evil. He's a nasty piece of work, but Mystique is just as bad. She often uses her powers to commit rape. She's raped Gambit, Wolverine, and Creed for some examples. And with Wolverine, she took pix of it, sent them to his girlfriend, then laughed about how she's not done screwing him yet. She's had no issue killing infants, throw her child in a ravine to save herself., etc. She also killed Moira and has just as high a body count as Creed. She's not any better. Ya know, Chris Claremont actually talked about a story line he wanted to do where Magneto terraformed Mars and turned it into a planet for nothing else but mutants. DUDE!!!! BRUH!!!! This shit is INSANE!!! Read it last night and I'm just MIND BLOWN!!! Although We have familiar elements, this is SOME NEW SHIT. And I.AM.HERE.FOR.IT. The use of Krakoa is GENIUS! There have been plenty base of operations (I HATED the Limbo base---buuuut it WAS different), but this just makes sense...and adds an extra amount of mystery. I'm curious about "Xavier" (I think he was referred to as that when Jean brought the little mutant through the gateway and said, "look there's Xavier with the hairy guy!" LOVE that scene). There is something...strange about this Xavier...he has a more cynical tone....could this still be "X" (Fatomex-Xavier) from "Astonishing X-Men?" Hmmmmm... I Love how Balanced Xavier and Magneto are right now. It seems like Xavier is still about that non-violence Life but it also seems like if Magneto was driven to act as the "hand of God" he'd let Erik make folk "put some respect on it" (as You say. lol). I haven't been this excited about X-Men since the whole Messiah Complex/War/Second Coming and Bendis' X-Men. I Love how they are letting Jonathan Hickman basically tell his dynamic story. Plenty X-books have always been promoted with "all new all different" BUT this book is CLEARLY All-New and All-Different! I mean, shit, the damn logo, the interior info pages...I mean this CLEARLY feels like a "Children of the Atom" book in terms of science fiction. As a matter of fact, I can see the Marvel Cinematic Universe taking a more Sci-Fi approach in however the Mutants get integrated into the Cinematic world be it through Disney + and/or any film they appear in. Magneto pulled one of the biggest flexes in his entire career. He basically pulled a Pop Copy on 'em and was like "Oh, you wanna speak to the manager? I AM YA MANAGER!" I'm here for all of this and more. I like the subtle touches back to the 80's and 90's era of X-Men. Hell, they put real respect on Storm's name and FINALLY made her an official Omega level mutant... Hickman is on message so far

What I got from this story-line that humans have 10 years before domination of the mutants or before the mutants population out weights the humans. But I don't understand is why? the reason for Scarlet Witch M Day was the reduction of mutants it always meant be a small group the last time it popular 198 mutants now it about 300 world wide.

WHAT I WONDER IF THIS COMICBOOK STORY WAS EVER PICKED TO BE MADE INTO A MOVIE: Now if this ComicBook story was ever picked to be created into a movie; Than I wonder what the story-script might be like, and to add I wonder what it might be like to explain who might be picked in the story who are trying to save the normal people from extinction? Plus to add I wonder where might the normal people be sent for there safety, and most importantly for their survival as well too? But I am guessing what it might be like that the story for the ComicBook movie of it; An so I imagine it being introduced as an alternate reality that exists in a parallel dimensional realm of existence.

Sadly, as Destiny has seen herself, that this Mutant Utopia won't last, it's going to collapse like Jim Jones Johnstown. The Xmen or mutants have become the very people they said hated them. Hickman's using the amnesty for mutants anywhere on Earth as an analogy for Israel's right of return for any Jews living abroad. If Hickman really wants to go there, and can get around the extinction that took them out, bring back the Neo, see the reaction of Xavier, Magnus and the rest, confront the reality of mutants who are the next evolution of mutation and are much stronger than the current mutants. I mean, The Neo referred to current mutants including Xavier and Magnus as 'spikes', that they're nothing but anomalies of humanity. I'd love to write that. Omega level, they still don't know how to write Storm as an OM, it's been stated that her power is on an extinction level aka God-mode. On an aside, I don't know how Blerd creates so many videos as he does. Time for me too be a patreon.

I LOVE the new things the Mutants are doing. Its about dang time. Its not "isolationism". I say its INDEPENDENCE. I hate how the Mutants have always been stepped on, they didnt receive help even from the Avengers when Mutant kind were threatened. Aside from the animated series, the only X-titles I have had an interest in were; Exiles Ultimate X-Men First Class Uncanny X-Force. Hickman's Fantastic Four & Avengers were both critically acclaimed, so I would presume that this latest endeavor will be another successful run. Will he just do the HoX & PoX 12 part arc or will he be writing the X-Men for as long as (two omnibus worth for each) he wrote Fantastic Four, and Avengers?

What i don;t understand is the first couple of panels, right before Xavier says, "To me my X-men." Are mutants "pod people" now? Is Krakoa cloning mutants? Is that why there are so many versions of the same characters fro albeit different times? has Krakoa finally won? It is implied Xavier is under the bulbous helmet. Is it really Xavier or some type of clone from Krakoa? Did Xavier go in and indoctrinate every mutant, evil ones as well, into his plan? Wolverine, laughing and playing with kids. Really? Almost seems like it is more the "Cult of Xavier."

A thought just came to me. GS X-Men one, the relaunch of X-Men. It started on Krakoa. Supposedly, Krakoa was launched into space. Here we have the island, and all the wonders that it is doing. Did the events of GSX#1 ever really end or did some subtle alterations to the X-Men, or even Xavier happen. When Scott returned to the mansion, did he bring spores, which changed Xavier?

In one panel it looks like Jean has tears in her eyes. She wanted to start a mutant nation in "X-Men Red" issue 1. Namor (Atlantis) and T'Challah (Wakanda) recognized it at The United Nations. I hope Hickman is somehow calling back to this. Xavier built this nation with a much harder stance than what Jean proposed.

Great Black Wall Street reference. As a side note, the X-men were created in the sixties. It's a metaphor for racism. Xavier was modeled after MLK, while Magneto was inspired by Malcolm X. The separatist vs. the integrationist.

In Astonishing X-Men. His astral body was a prisoner of the Shadow King. With the help of the X-Men he got freed and beat SK. So with the permission of a Fantomex, he sacrificed his body to Professor X. Who just calls himself X.

It is a good story, but what makes me cautious (not angry or worried) is what I didn't see, the human... or rather mutant...level effect on the X-Men. The X-Men at its best has always gotten into that very personal look at its members. I know it is only one issue (which eases me a bit), but the nitty-gritty of humanity is not something Hickman does often. I actually wonder some times if he is a Vulcan. Still, I am along for the ride, and was intrigued by the first stop enough to give the benefit of the doubt.

Social commentary in an X-Men book? That is ridiculous. I REALLY hope my sarcasm came through. The X-books were created to be social commentary... despite what some of your fellow youtubers may believe (we won't name names). Black Wall Street is interesting. I was actually thinking immigration a bit, you know fear of the new populace. The talk of a mutant language made me think of the publication in the Black community covering issues the White populace didn't look at, starting in the 20s. Also, hippies. Hickman is clearly coming from the Morrison handbook, and Morrison said he viewed Mutants more as a youth/counter culture movement. Hippies had their own publications as well... for what many believed was an evolving form of civilization. Also, many in the hippie movement went into the Silicon Valley sector. Which we all increasingly depend on (like Krakoa fruit), and is a part of the economy known for some odd demands being made at times about what we are supposed to all agree to letting them do. I think the Silicon Valley parallel stands out more to me than the Black Wall Street one because, Silicon Valley unnerves me at times, and I think calling yourself a group's god is kind of a dick move. ​@@electricmastro I never said that it was every single story was a meditation on race relations. However, can you name a writer since 1975 who didn't use the book for that. Beyond that, not all social commentary needs to be a but prejudice. The X-Men are science fiction in their heart of hearts, and science fiction is a parable based genre, it is always about deeper themes. It is commenting on the now and painful truths of man in the guise of the future and fantastical.

@@electricmastro Well. the very nature of humans evolving to have powers is science fiction. It is an inescapable part. It is the main part, and as I pointed out, every X-Men writer has a story, even a focus, on it. However, I don't believe it has to be the focus of every story, but the use of sci-fi allows them to explore more societal/philosophical issues. The most important thing for an X_men book however (which O find Hickman lacking in) is character. How do these events effect the people.
