Hey Susie! I love your videos! I started following you because my little girl has curly hair -the only one in the family and I needed help. Ugh I still do! Lol but I just love your personality! In the past year and a half I have also become a plant mom! They give me so much Joy! As an adult I felt like I didn’t have any hobbies or anything I ever did for myself so when I had one plant and it was doing so well it made me happy unexpectedly, so I got another, and another. Lol now I have a jungle. My tip for people starting is to get one plant and become its friend. Research it, take care of it, and make it happy and thriving...,then go for another one and do the same thing. Many people get so excited they buy all kinds and it’s overwhelming. Also when you get new plants..... quarantine them keep them separate and away from all other plants for about a month. Pests and bugs on new plants can infect your whole collection and most plants from stores can come with pests. I’m also from Nova Scotia and I joined some Facebook groups ...Nova Scotia house plants is one group. It’s a great place to show off your plants or ask questions. Tons of knowledgeable people there that love it as much as you! Also I joined a free plant cuttings trade group. The idea of it is to find people near you that have new cuttings to trade with so that you are getting pest free plants. Like you with your montsera, I really love new growth, it’s what makes me the most happy. So I’ve found i really like growing plants from small clippings so I can watch how they start so small and follow their progress! I really enjoy propagating as well. Hun if you’re ever in Halifax I will hook you up with clippings of many different plants!

Great, basic, plant information! My son gave me a spider plant when he was in Grade 2 and I still have it. I usually cut a few babies off and root them in water before planting. Plus I always keep the original plant until I make sure the new plant has taken. The reason I discard the old plant is I really don’t like spider plants but I love that my boy gave it to me 30 years ago!! He now has part of the original plant growing in his house.

I totally get how well you feel having plants 🪴 We are biological creatures who aren't meant to sit in brick and mortar, under fluorescent lights 24/7 - we are PART of nature as God created and we feel wonderful surrounded by it! My husband and I have the BEST sleep when we're camping, without fail lol! I could give a million more examples but I won't, hehe. My tip is: watch out when you bring fruit into your home. A few fruit flies infected my plants of 15 years - it turned into a massive infestation! My last resort was to throw out all of my beautiful plants, and that's what I had to do. Watch for the little gnats & fruit-flies. Your home is absolutely lovely!! Thank u for sharing 🥰

I love plants and totally get what you mean about them. You can make more basil plants, let yours grow a bit and root in water (cuttings). You can grow scallions too. I’ve got two live juniper trees that I rescued as inch tall saplings, those two will be my holiday trees(one is four ft. Tall the other is 3 ft tall) and I’ve got another little sapling growing. I’m even growing asparagus (outside)! I could go on and on... begonias, angel wing, are perfect for inside too. 💚💚💚

Beautiful plants! And they look so healthy! All of the plants you have have a special benefit. They all clean the air in your home. This is especially important in the winter months when spending a lot of time indoors. If you have any plants that don't like to sit in water or don't like to be moist all of the time, it's good to plant them in a clay pot, which are porous. Plus, the terra cotta color of those pots looks so nice with a green plant or you can paint the pots colors that you like. One tip I have for the peace lily. Fertilize it a few times each year, especially in the months before spring. Spring is the most active time for a peace lily. I noticed when I put a few plant food spikes in my peace lily, it grew more of the white flowers in the spring. This year it grew 7 or 8!

I love house plants too! I got my first house plant of my own in 7th grade. It was a variegated Swedish ivy. I loved it so much. It take my smaller plants out to the patio during the summer. They do really well. I bring in some of my potted impatiens in before the frost to overwinter inside. Sometimes they make it, sometimes not. But I love having plants around. I havent been as purposeful as you getting a beautiful variety or plants though. I love the plant on your kitchen table. I need one of those!

Beautiful. I cannot help because I mostly over-water. But, they do make specialty pots for Azaleas. Apparently they like wet feet, so the pot sits in a larger pot that holds water. It is great as they water themselves, only refilling once a month! (beautiful pot you have chosen in kitchen) Keep up the great Peace making. Your friend from League City, TX Anne~

I loved your back splash. Sadly the way my house is I am only able to keep plants in one room . Most of my rooms do not have natural light or very very little. I have a aloe plant that I rescued it was only two small strands when I got it. Now it’s full and huge in a large pot. I am not a plant expert either but it made me feel really good seeing my aloe thrive. I also have a small flower garden that I love to see grow and bloom.

Loved the video tour! You may want to move your Alocasia to your bathroom over the winter. They tend to really love humidity and your bathroom will naturally have more humidity. Also, the last dracaena you showed, I'm pretty sure that is actually a yucca. I find my yucca does not need water hardly at all. I believe they store quite a bit of water in their trunk. I usually check with a moisture meter and am shocked that even when the soil appears to be completely dried out, at the bottom, it's still quite moist. So a moisture meter can be your friend! :).

Hi Susie, I love your house and plants. One thing I learned that has really helped my plants is that your plants should see the biggest view of the sky possible from wherever they are. So if they are a lower light plant, pull them back from the window but still have them in a spot where they can have a nice view of the sky. There’s my two cents 😉

You can try hanging plants or install some invisible shelf. This is space saving and will help you to own more plants of your choice. One more thing run some humidifiers in the rooms during winter. This will help your plant from getting brown tips or crispy. I live in Massachusetts and this trick really helps to keep my plants healthy and green during winter.

I bought 6 plants at IKEA a couple of months ago before selling our house, to make it look nice in the realtor’s pictures and for viewings. I love them and want more for my new flat! I find it difficult to choose plants though, I have a cat that likes to chew on plants, so each plant I buy has to be researched in advance to make sure it’s not poisonous. I would love a video recommending pet safe plants! Love the new kitchen! A video about the renovation would be fun!

The inch plant is a tradescantia, which is a family of plants with tons of variety! The "comon" names for this plant are a hotly debated topic with plant enthusiasts as one has a negative connotation, so most of us stick with it's botanical name (tradescantia). Welcome to the crazy world of indoor plants!

I recently learned that pothos leaves will get those tiny bits of yellow when they have too much sunlight. Wandering Dude was originally named Wandering Jew, but has been changed for obvious reasons.... I water all my plants with collected rainwater, which my father taught me, and my plants LOVE it! I'm so excited to see more plant videos!!! Good luck with the rosemary, as my father and I have found it difficult to keep alive indoors. Your plants are so lovely!! What do you use to fertilize them?

I seem to kill everything- when i come home with a new plant to try, my husband jokes “so youve brought another one to its death.” Plus we have indoor cats that chew on everything! So i have a money tree from home depot on stilts and my daughter bought me a lipstick plant that i hung up high. I killed the lipstick plant, but repurchased 3times now as i just loved it. The last one is doing ok, but i know that eventually i will have repot both the money tree and the lipstick plant. Have you had to repot any yet and if so, can you do a video on that please?
