In spite of your struggles, the ceiling looks wonderful! I've heard of a lot of people having issues with a lot of warped boards these days. Quality is down the tubes on everything IMHO. And of course who could stay in a bad mood with sweet Iko there to boost your morale!

Ceiling looks great. It's called the grain of wood not rings...I am currently making a fence out of pallets and doing sho shugi ban the Japanese art of burning wood...the grain is so beautiful. I will make pillow cases out if garden fabric and fill with soil and biochar then plant with flowers and food. Looks so nice.

great work, remember you are on the water, wood is dried, do not unbundle the boards until you are ready to stain and then get it installed ASAP, since the wood will absorb some moisture then twist, stack heavy objects etc on top of the wood on a flat surface should reduce your issue with twisting boards.

T and G doesn't have to be full length boards so bowed boards can be cut to make fitting easier, you don't even have to end on a stud/rafter as the T#G is super strong. Just be sure to stager your joints.

We did not want seams in any of the runs in order to have it looking the most professional and luckily we were still able to accomplish that 🙏

You should watch Country Road Cure they put tongue and groove ceiling up and had the same problem, and he shows how to install it if not straight.

When you have to do that jus make a bunch of short cuts up front then u can jus put one in each row and alternate them beginning to end it still goes fast and u don’t get a bunch or seems lining up on each other same when u do floors

Question: when you were putting up the T & G ceiling, I noticed the electrical wiring was shoved up in the ceiling in all the rooms, did you install a cutout to get up there to drill holes to drop the wiring back down for the fixtures? Perhaps I missed that in the video. Hope everything comes out well.

We will install lights further on down the road 🙂 don’t have solar yet so no reason to do it just now haha. for now, we drew red x’s where the wiring is set for lights so we know where to drill when it’s that time

Got your E-mail was in Germany for a Month selling a house I own in Bad Kreuznach Germany a place called Planing Germany on Romerdorf Street.
