@@hsandev8972 Agreed, reality doesnt just barge like some epic heroic movie plot. It is purely cold for people struggling and yes they simply dont have cards or leverage to get better terms. For that I liked very much the lines from characters here. I'd rather business people negotiating on middle grounds in the first place than blindly giving out donations afterwards when the damage is already done(and they did it to avoid tax). The great part of the ep is that she gets to be on both begging/warm side and the begged/cold side. So the point can be this is nobody's fault, or the finance/insurance system is just making us less human, just like media system is holding the power to tell the truth but they are never honest.

That's why I love episodes like this that focus on "minor" characters. It's just funny to think of a show like Doctor Who where aliens are taking over London but instead we just see a frantic blonde lady in a too-big white overcoat pulling a delighted yet harried Pakistani-British woman behind her as we go about picking up the Times and some fruit on the way home.

More importantly, in my opinion, he's an enjoyable part of her day. No really, compared to those lawyers, the ex-patient who couldn't pay her or that CEO, dealing with House's antics seems like a welcome distraction. It really puts their whole relationship into perspective if we see House as actually being the least stressful part of her day, it's no wonder she was always willing to cut him some slack even if we disregard any potential romantic feelings.

I admit Lisa Cuddy would have made a good series, but the problem I see with it, Cuddy is too serious. After that stunt House pulled that involved him driving his car through her dining room, there is a 0% chance she would have tried dealing with another House. Cuddy is like the ultimate.. quintessential cougar superbabe😍😍😍 and obviously a superb actress! Love her character and the zinging chem between her and House.. main attraction of a standout cast and writing team! House ruled/ rules and Lisa Edelstein is the shining co-star of the show IMHO..

At 8:33 I thought it cut to Carla from Scrubs. Also, I feel really sorry for the the guy that didn’t want his thumb. He shouldn’t have to pay for something he expressly said he couldn’t afford. I’m so glad I live in England with free health care.

@@doctorfate6414 Oh it's limited here, too. Some people just never even have a chance to get in the line, so it seems like there's more to go around for those who don't have to think about that.

@@TiaKatt We are given instant admission for emergencies and are given operations for fatal or deathly conditions. Payment can be arranged or dealt by insurance. We have people in England who migrate from there to here for that factor alone. Not to mention that we have a more vast amount of operations including services of medication and medical then England goes.

@@doctorfate6414 don’t forget the much, much, much more advanced technological advancements the US sees because it allows its corporations to more or less do what they want with their own money. Granted, plenty of corruption and corporate bullshit still occurs, but that’s in part because of the corruption, which all nations have. Ours just isn’t nearly as phased by it. If/when the cure for cancer is created/discovered, it’ll probably be in the United States of America.

@@doctorfate6414 do you think England doesn't have instant admission for emergencies, that they put you on a waiting line while you bleed out? Or that they don't treat deadly conditions? What are you trying to say?

This episode was so great. It showed everything that Cuddy had to go through while dealing with House’s and Lucas’ insanity. I also loved the opening song, “Break Up the Concrete.”

Such a great episode and a solid performance from Lisa Edelstein. But I feel like one of the darker and more subconscious meanings behind the episode, like a few other House episodes, is the fucked up financial and insurance systems of the American healthcare.

That is the game played at the highest level and even though this is a fictional series, you can tell just how intense those negotiations are. The weight on those shoulders are heavy. House and his antics are really the least of her worries. Lol
