It's not about Tritter's actor. He's good, definitely good. But it's not just that. While he does sell the self-righteous asshole role he plays, ultimately it's his fundamental misunderstanding of addiction and pain management which makes me hate him. He has likely never spent a day in his life in as much pain as House deals with, yet he seems to think that he understands the ins and outs of addiction like he's went through it himself, but he hasn't. He's only ever seen it from the outside, and when he sees House, he sees a vendetta. He's a narcissistic manchild just like House is, and on its own, that doesn't really piss me off. What pisses me off is that he thinks he's better than House, and he isn't. Tritter is obviously dedicated to his job, just like House is. Where House sees a case that interests him, though, Tritter sees suspects who he can hunt down relentlessly. House saves people while often costing them an important aspect of their life, be it social, political, romantic, or sometimes even all of those; but the end result is usually the best one can hope for if their case reaches House: they get treatment, and they live. Tritter probably has done good on other cases, probably put dangerous people away. But as the judge said in the final bout between the two, House wasn't flooding the streets with narcotics. He chose this as a personal mission to persecute House because he saw tendencies that he probably saw in his family, long before. House does his job out of principal. Tritter was only chasing down House out of pure spite.

katelyn ast Being high isn't illegal, and tolerance is a perfectly acceptable excuse. And doctors are technically able to provide a "verbal script". Meaning, they can just ask a pharmacist for something, and it would technically be legal. This is considered highly unprofessional, discouraged, and rarely done, but it is legal nonetheless. Furthermore, fraud isn't fraud if you specifically have the person's permission. So even if House was proven to have written a script using Wilson's name, Wilson could say he okayed it, but was currently unavailable, so house wrote it.

80mg of Hydrocodone is not a lot for those with a tolerance. They make 80mg OxyContin tablets and it has to do with physical tolerance. "Stoned" is a relative standard. Me on a high dose of Hydrocodone is completely different than you on a high dose of Hydrocodone because I've been on narcs for years for legitimate pain. If you wanted to prove impairment you'd have to pull the patients entire medical history, the duration, strength, type, etc. of the narcotic, and breaks, etc. to really prove it to the point of being impaired. It is very difficult to prosecute impaired driving cases when people are on prescription drugs alone but usually things like them hitting a telephone pole are obvious indicators along with numerous other substances like alcohol and marijuana.

That's the thing about Tritter. Whether you think that he's right or not depends on how you viewed the very first incident between him and House. Tritter believes that House is in the wrong and that he's the man of justice. The issue here lies with the fact that House DID diagnose him based on what he observed, something that many doctors do. When House made to leave, Tritter tripped him, hence the first bullet. It was only after that moment did House strike back and stick a thermometer up the man's ass. Tritter believes that House is the bully, and to a certain extent, he's right, House is a bully, but not to Tritter. Tritter is literally what every bully is, he tries to force House into doing something he wanted, and when House retaliated, he became vindictive and kept going after everyone around House until he forces House into doing what he doesn't want to do.

This is... oddly justified. Tritter's obsession is just frightening and borderline evil. But anyone should hope House could get off the Vicodin and practice without it. The problem is, Tritter doesn't care about House or his health or safe practices, he just wants to see him in jail. Then again, House kinda does bring it on himself for doing illegal shit, so... I feel conflicted.

I don't. Drug addiction is a medical problem, not a criminal one, regardless of what the BS laws say. The whole antagonism between them started when the cop took out his anger about clinic wait times out on House (who wasn't in control of it), and when he didn't like how House responded to it, decided to trip a cripple by kicking out his cane. House's addiction does cause problems, sure, but it's the hospital's call as to whether he's fit enough to practice, and frankly, no-one without a medical degree has any buisness telling a chronic pain patient that they shouldn't be taking meds. The cop needs to stick to crimes that actually have a victim, rather than abusing an unjust law to go after someone for a personal grudge (which actually, should have excluded him from working on any case involving House in the first place). House is a criminal (technically), an ass, and an addict that needs help, but Tritter is the menace to society.

As someone who also lives with chronic pain, Tritter hits way too close to home by using house's pain meds to manipulate him. The thing is that it's completely pointless to force someone into recovery because it never sticks if the person doesn't want it. I could write a book on this scenario and how it is reflected in the real world/ how things have progressed since its creation but I don't wanna😂

I don't think Tritter was that evil, but very proud. Remember how hard house resisted that rich guy from season 1 even though the rich guy offered so much money to the hospital. It was because house simply despises being controlled. Cuddy even says it one point that you don't control house, you manage him. I think humiliating Twitter is like trying to control house. You make an instant enemy. I think Tritter would have qualified as evil if he planted evidence. As it stands he simply had to wait for house to screw up so that he could catch him breaking the law.
@mckenzie.latham916 жыл бұрын
What a load... House is a drugged up sociopath whose addicted to painkillers and only is competent because of it thanks to writer contrivance solely devised to make it so. He totally has been scarfing down pain pills like meth while actively working at a hospital...and yes that is a criminal crime...becasue you're knowingly putting people's life at danger willingly... again the only reason house's drugged up nature hasn't caused a death or screwed up too big is because the writers write it that way... actual addicts in multiple jobs often will eventually self destruct, screw up and suffer from their addictions as it impacts their jobs and lives... only in fictional tv show can this be not true. Second House, commits crimes and or beaks the law whenever he feels like it, such as actual forgery, fraud (like when he told a patient and her fiance that she was pregnant by rare self conception, even forging fake documents when she actually cheated, just to win a bet) etc. Police can actually detect forgery, if Wilson lied under oath and committed perjury he would lose his license and would face nearly 5 years in prison. House is a sociopath so of course he didn't care about putting Wilson in danger he only wanted to get away from his reckoning so he could keep his painkillers... ps. house's limp is totally fake and mental, he's not really a cripple, his mind just sees it that way to keep his pills... as Tritter says, addicts are addicts and they're predicable. That's how he nailed House for scooping up a dead man's prescription for himself...again through fraud and forgery.

I see a few people blaming house for this whole situation/being the bully. This is a case of circumstances. 1: neither house or tritter knew eachother, tritter didnt know house is the best doctor in diagnostics, so something simple didnt need to be tested. House didnt know tritter was a detective. 2: both house and tritter have huge egos. Gregory house, is literally an anagram for "huge ego, sorry". tritter probably had a huge ego because of how many cases he has solved. 3: tritter instigated this whole situation because he tripped house by kicking his cane, house fueled the situation by using his home field advantage. 4: tritter being a bully with a badge pulls house over because he assumed house had narcotics on him, being able to cause house the problems he did. House knew the judge would have thrown the case out as soon as house gave the judge his medical history and a few testimonies from co workers and patients. Thats why he told wilson it was done and over with when wilson bailed him out. 5: tritter just had to be the one who won so he starts investigating house waiting for him to slip up. Cuddy knew what the whole thing was over and to keep her self image safe she started vicodin blocking house. Instead of just writing him prescriptions until houses court case was over. So house had to forge a prescription for himself, letting tritter get what he needed to not need anyone of houses co workers to testify against him. Which is why cuddy finally lied on the stand and the judge threw out the charge because she knows that house wasnt selling, he was using for his leg pain. This whole situation would have been avoided if house left the exam room and asked for another doctor for conflict of interest.

Especially as someone who's dealt with chronic pain for more years now than I care to count (hoo boy I have NEVER related MORE to a television character in my life than Gregory House), there are multiple aspects of this whole Tritter plot line during season 3 that bothered me on a logic level, and one of them is this "forged scripts" thing that's (at least at first) so central as evidence to Tritter's case. Because House may very well have easy access to steal Wilson's pad and has little to no moral quandry of writing out extra prescriptions for himself... where would he be filling them? That is, he couldn't be getting everything at the same pharmacy, the people working there would see the math doesn't add up and he's taking way too much. But even aside from that, it seems a fair assumption he'd be using his medical insurance to fill them, and even if he went around to different pharmacies, it would essentially render the same result. The computers would notice he's not anywhere even close to needing a new prescription yet, and he'd be flagged. Actually, even if he went to a different pharmacy and convinced them he was a non-insurance, cash paying patient, that could STILL happen. Of course, this is allllllll beside the fact of the most glaring drop of logic of all. House is a man in his late 40s, about whom it's understood will need to be on pain medication for a long time, possibly the rest of his life. The LAST thing in the world he'd be on is regular 5mg Vicodin (or at least that by itself, with massive quantities of it). Even back in 2004 when this show debuted, he would almost certainly be on a regiment of two 12 hour, extended release-version pills a day (OxyContin, or MSContin, basically the Morphine equivalent), with then a certain amount of immediate release oxycodone pills per day for "breakthrough pain", the point being they don't have any Tylenol in them. The Tylenol is what causes the sustained damage to the liver far more than anything else. That's why many chronic pain patients are on some combo of what I've described, leaving Tylenol (acetomenaphin) out of the mix entirely. But, I know, I know... it's just a TV show, suspension of disbelieve and all lol (plus as I've seen creator David Shore say in interviews, when they decided he was going to be on painkillers, the network was fine with, and even preferred he be on Vicodin, because that was a known brand name, and they could get sponsorship).
