I am a die hard Suns fan.. i remember when my Suns were the two seed playing the 7 seed Lakers in 2006.. everyone was picking the Suns to win in four or five... I remember telling everyone that would listen..... "but they have Kobe Bryant!".. to most, including all the sports analysts, it didn't matter, the Suns were so much better as a team.. but I knew better. Kobe Bryant at that time was the most dangerous player in the NBA.. going into that series, I was terrified. I thought that the Suns could be the first two seed to lose to a seven seed in decades. And I was right almost, Kobe Bryant darn near won that series all by himself, took the Suns to 7 games! Kobe Bryant was the second most clutch player (Jordan being first) I've ever witnessed with my eyes. In my humble opinion, he is the second greatest basketball player in history. I know there is a Jordan vs LeBron debate.. but I agree with Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson, y'all just going to pass Kobe Up!?! If I wanted to win a game 7 with all the chips on the line, I take Kobe over LeBron 10 out of 10 times. Kobe Bryant is an assassin... Not only is he the second greatest player that ever lived, but I don't think it's even close. LeBron James is definitely top five, but he ain't no Kobe.. as a Suns fan, I never once feared LeBron James like I did Kobe Bryant.

Kobe was the embodiment of hardwork, dedication, and greatness. If he ever taught us anything it was to do whatever was needed to make our dreams come true. He inspired more than just basketball players. Athletes and people around the world too. What he did outside of basketball makes him even greater. What he did for fans and kids in need makes him a legend. Rip Kobe Bryant 🖤
@ericmathis37464 жыл бұрын
I am a Suns fan, and I hated Kobe because he scared me every time we played the Lakers in the playoffs. He single handedly beat us in the 2009-2010 western conference championship. He kept us out of the finals. I don't understand why he gets leap-frogged when people rank the greatest players of all time. This Man hit so many game winners in his career. I'm 43 years old, I watched Michael Jordan beat my Suns in the finals... He's the GOAT..and ONLY one other player scared me as much as MJ..and that's Kobe. When we play LeBron, I was never scared of him.. because he doesn't have that fire and ability to take over games late in the fourth quarter.. in my humble opinion, Kobe is the second greatest player of all time.. and quite frankly, it ain't even close. LeBron is a beast..but he ain't Kobe when it counts. RIP to the assassin..

@Desmond Hackney he went to eight straight finals in the weakest Eastern conference we've ever had in a decade's span. I read where they showed the talent level as far as strength and records of teams in a conference over a 10-year span. in the eight seasons LeBron went to the finals, it just so happens that coincided with the weakest 10 straight years of any conference in NBA history. That's not to say LeBron didn't have some tough battles here and there in the East, but as a whole it was embarrassingly weak. Kobe Bryant on the other hand had to run through the gauntlet out west just to make it to the finals much less win it. if you were to take either of Kobe's championship winning squads and transplant them into the East during LeBron's run, Kobe would have probably had ten or more finals appearances instead of the seven appearances he finished with. And if you go back and watch some of those finals wins, you can thank some of those nail biting games to players other than LeBron late in fourth quarters in crunch times..remember when Ray Allen hit in that three to save LeBron's you know what in Miami after LeBron had TWO crucial turnovers mere possessions prior? Remember Kyrie Irving's three against the warriors in 2016 that saved LeBron's you know what? my point is LeBron is great, definitely and arguably one of the best ever. But my argument is not only can you put up the numbers, but can you take over games in crunch time when it counts in the playoffs.. and Time after Time LeBron deferred.. Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant excelled in those crunch moments.

you worded it better than I ever could. People keep saying "shaq" without realizing who closed out 4th quarters when the game got close since shaq would brick every free throw. Kobe was just as unstoppable, hitting clutch shots in the late game. Shaq had more stats but it doesn't always tell the whole story.

10:12 game winner over the Phoenix Suns. Take a second to look at how he doesn't look at the basket, doesn't look at the clock. In this moment he has blinders on he is focused on one spot on the floor, he hits that spot, turns and sinks the game winner.
