I was happy to see Beckham at the table with Daddy and Blakely. Hopefully this will happen all the time. Also, just an idea, put a very small amount of food on Beckham tray in a scoop dish and just see what he does with it. Let him use his fingers or an adaptive utensil. I believe if left along and there was not a big deal made of it and he could go at his own pace with little bits of encouragement that he might eat some new things by mouth. He was really trying to get to daddy's food. Maybe just maybe with the feeding therapy now, Beckham may be making that connection now! Keep it up Beckham. With love from TN

Blakely is so brave! I am currently 20 and have been on allergy shots for almost 2 years. My allergy test results were very similar to hers in that I am moderately to severely allergic to almost everything they tested for along with moderate asthma. My allergist has me on a 3-5 year injection plan. For the first 8 months until I hit my maintenance dose, I got 3 shots weekly. Now for the past 16 months I have been getting 3 shots monthly. I am not going to lie, it was a little rough for those 8 months as I had some reactions that set me back at times, but overall after those 8 months were over, I started to see major improvement in my allergies and asthma to the point that I am now on over the counter allergy meds and am almost completely off of my daily inhaler. The hardest part for me was dealing with the itching and burning for a couple days following the injections, but my allergist started using ice packs while I waited after my shots, and that improved the pain significantly. I think allergy injections are so so beneficial and would highly recommend doing them as soon as possible if her doctor recommends it!

Long term use of steroids is harmful for toddlers. It can cause slower growth rate, cataracts, eye pressure, behavior changes as irritability, hyperactivity, trouble sleeping, obesity, increased risk of infections, high blood sugar, ulcers etc.. there are numerous effects. Can you not just like have the dog stay at a friend's or parents house so you can still see her? That way she wouldn't have to take steroids and would have better overall health.

I’m Lifelong Asthmatic Started At Age 6 Months. I’m HIGHLY Allergic To Dust, Horses, Cats, Dogs… basically any animal with fur/hai. Also grass, Trees and most flowers… I take my meds and my inhaler and live life to the fullest without restrictions because you only get one turn to experience life. My parents told me I couldn’t jog or run, laugh too much or go swimming or even play in the snow. I learned to keep my face covered with a scarf to breathe in warm air and I learned that when I feel an onset… take a time out, relax my breathing and get back into it. It’s all about learning to manage through a pulmonologist and allergist. I’m currently a black belt, run 5K’s and spend my summers swimming, biking, hiking, and doing miles on foot. Asthma isn’t a death sentence. You CAN do many things. My son also has it severely bad. He’s also on Neb treatments every 4 hours daily. He’s also a black belt, runs with me and also swims, bikes and does motor cross. Life is wonderful if you don’t live it being scared of an attack. Attacks happen. That’s what inhalers/meds are for. Live life happy.

I had asthma and allergies as a child, and was on medication and shots for a few years. Our dog lived in the backyard with rare visits inside the house. Talk to Blakeley’s doctor about the frequency of the dog’s presence inside the house. Steroids can be dangerous, hopefully she can stop those and rely on oral meds (Dimetapp for congestion and a cough/wheezing med also ( I don’t remember its name, just that they were tiny pink tablets).

Firstly I spent every summer with a girl that got allergy shots 1x per wk. she was very allergic to animals, and they had a cat. The cat was indoor/outdoor. She did beautifully with the shots. Eventually she outgrew the allergies. Also every summer I got at least one ear infection, she never did! Secondly, how cute are both your kids?? Blakely making eggs was priceless and while at the doctor…so cute. Her commentary while she’s doing things is hysterical. And there’s sweet and perfect Beckham❤️just living his best life at the table! Your all the best🥰

6:31 as a child, I had to have allergy injections twice a week for 9 years. At some point, because it was going to be for years, my mom was able to give those at home so it didn’t interfere with school and my mom’s work. They were amazing, I would say life changing for me. I was allergic to everything! Literally! Only a few food allergies, but even stuff like dust mites I was allergic to. Every winter when it dropped below freezing, we would have to turn the attic fan on for 2 hrs to freeze everything in the house to kill off dust mites. My stuffed animals had to be put in the freezer once a week to kill dust mites. My room was white with tile floors. I couldn’t have carpet, and any pictures on the walls had to be cleaned daily. So eventually the injections helped me to build up immunity to a lot of stuff I was allergic to. ❤

My brother (who is almost 19) has been on allergy shots for the past 6 or 7 years for anaphylactic insect sting allergy and water allergy. While it has not completed eliminated the allergies (he has not been stung so we are not 100% sure on this one) but has lessened his water allergy by 95% easily. He was having major reactions after every contact with water so allergy shots were a complete necessity. They are very intense and heavy duty but really have been a miracle for him. With steroids I have asthma and use an inhaler regularly. My sibling has a rare genetic condition that impacts their lungs dramatically so inhalers have been a part of their life since they were a toddler. While there are definitely negative impacts, the other option is not being able to breathe, so easy choice.
