In Italy at the moment we have the opposite - house prices are going down and they are actually giving away houses in small villages which risk going deserted.

Funny you mention that, we just saw houses going for 1 euro in some villages. Might need to make a move lol

Locked down did its damage. More homes will come available as death rates increase. Prices may come down due to “sudden” death syndrome. People like new builds, styles, tho’ & technology..

Finally someone keeping real. It's hard to get these people to understand everything involved in being in the trades. It's like yeah i can build a whole house but can't afford to build one or buy one myself. Health insurance and retirement... lol is that even a thing in the trades.

It is if you can get ahead but most tradesmen are bad with money. Not only that but the cost to maintain your career with tools, clothing, transportation and tickets. But it is doable. I was able to start a company and in 6 years make enough to get out and do something that I enjoy more. But it took me 6 years of working 18-20 hours per day steady.
