Im in.the conversion process now I grew up Christian I find so much comfort and joy in my congregation Beth Shalom . I'll be appearing before a bit din im now a associated member at my congregation its been the most beautiful journey of my life . I had two family In my blood that were holocaust Victims which is what led me to study Judaism. When I went to my first shabbat service I cried so hard in my car after. And in that was a great trial from your Lord. 7:142 And We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights and perfected them by [the addition of] ten; so the term of his Lord was completed as forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take my place among my people, do right [by them],1 and do not follow the way of the corrupters." 7:143 And when Moses arrived at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, "My Lord, show me [Yourself] that I may look at You." [Allāh] said, "You will not see Me,1 but look at the mountain; if it should remain in place, then you will see Me." But when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He rendered it level,2 and Moses fell unconscious. And when he awoke, he said, "Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first [among my people] of the believers."3 ------------ Footnote i.e., 2 It crumbled to dust. 7:144 [Allāh] said, "O Moses, I have chosen you over the people with My messages and My words [to you]. I will show you the home of the defiantly disobedient."1 7:146 I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant upon the earth without right; and if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of consciousness,1 they will not adopt it as a way; but if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they have denied Our signs and they were heedless of them. 7:147 Those who denied Our signs and the meeting of the Hereafter - their deeds have become worthless. But he for whom Allāh intends fitnah3 - never will you possess [power to do] for him a thing against Allāh. Those are the ones for whom Allāh does not intend to purify their hearts. For them in this world is disgrace, and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment. 4:46 Among the Jews are those who distort words from their [proper] places [i.e., usages] and say, "We hear and disobey" and "Hear but be not heard" and "Rāʿinā,"1 twisting their tongues and defaming the religion. And if they had said [instead], "We hear and obey" and "Wait for us [to understand]," it would have been better for them and more suitable. The Jews used to use the same word with the meaning of an insult. And sufficient is Allāh as Witness. 4:167 Indeed, those who disbelieve and avert [people] from the way of Allāh have certainly gone far astray. 4:168 Indeed, those who disbelieve and commit wrong [or injustice] - never will Allāh forgive them, nor will He guide them to a path, 4:169 Except the path of Hell; they will abide therein forever. And that, for Allāh, is [always] easy. 4:170 O mankind, the Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe; it is better for you. But if you disbelieve - then indeed, to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Rabbi you give Awesome Truth from HaShem and His Words... Thank you. My mother was a Jew but I did not find out until she was on her deathbed due to the fact that the Catholic Church made her swear on the Name of G-d through a forced conversion, that she would never return to her Jewish Roots. Yet, all my life I knew I was different, I never fit in to any form of Christianity. And in the secret of our home she raised us with Jewish Teachings and the Torah of G-d. As a child I used to play in my tree house where I would talk with HaShem and he answered my every prayer... there was just One of Him and I knew this from the time I was a baby. Yet right before my mother died she confirmed with I always knew... she said... Ani Yehudit.... I am a Jew. It was at that point that I started my adventure back to Teshuvah to my One True and Living G-d. ... There a millions of us out her in this diaspora and I pray soon HaShem will gather us back to our Land of Israel..... Don't stop Rabbi singer... you are bringing His Light of Truth to the Nations. @@madmanmark8387: OK, that great! I've heard a lot of people calling out Rabbi Friedman as a 'heretic', so I don't know what that's all about! I've listened to him a couple of times, and he has a different way of speaking on the scriptures, but I never heard anything from him that you could call "heretical". Yes, it's good to listen to the teachings of many rabbis, because, as I was explaining to someone in another comment section, each rabbi may have a different 'insight' on the text, bringing another 'facet' to the multi-faceted scriptures, and his insight is not necessarily wrong. It took me a long while to realize this after coming out of Christianity, where what you read off the page can only be interpreted one way, i.e. "Believe THIS, or else....!"

The authenticity of Moses is based on the public revelation at Sinai: God revealed Himself to the entire nation of Israel, at least three million people, and proclaimed before them the Ten Commandments. The entire Jewish people personally experienced that revelation, each individual in effect becoming a prophet, and each one verifying the experience of the other. With their own eyes they saw, and with their own ears they heard, as the Divine voice spoke to them, and also they heard God saying, "Moses, Moses, go tell them the following ..." They did not receive the occurrence of that event and accept it as some claim or tradition of an individual, but they experienced it themselves. That public revelation, therefore, authenticated the bona fide status of Moses as a prophet of God, and the Divine origin of the instructions he recorded in the Torah. That, and that alone, is the criterion for the belief in, and acceptance of, Moses and his teachings.

I think the historical person that the messianic Jesus is based on is a very interesting thing to discuss. A revolutionary Jew who thought oppression from unjust rule is a very powerful symbol. We also do not know if this person did proclaim themselves to be the Messiah. While the biblical Jesus is said to have said he was the Messiah, he also proclaimed that the Talmud was the holy truth and still law and that the bond of Abraham and Moses still where standing. This tells me that he was still Jewish and not nessicerily calling himself the Messiah. With that being said, if you believe in Christianity and a christian Messiah I will leave you in your faith. One of my refutes to views like 'Jesus was just a prophet/wise teacher' is always that a righteous and holy man who upheld Jewish law would never have allowed anyone around him to believe or suggest that he was the Messiah (which many certainly did) if that wasn't the case. He would have immediately corrected them and told them not to say such things. But he didn't. When he was called the Messiah, he either outright confirmed it, or didn't deny it. So in cold factual analysis, we only have two choices: 1. Jesus was an utter charlatan, liar, and heretic. 2. Jesus was exactly who he said he was, the promised Messiah and the Son of the Living God.

Till now I - an atheist - appreciated most of the videos of Rabbi Singer, his historical knowledge also of the early Christendom. But his ignorance of the not heavily distorted teaching of Jesus in the gospels is more than astonishing, it is deplorable and may stem from his belonging to the Orthodoxy. Though Jesus seemed to be a Pharisee from which the Rabbinic Judaism has been evolved this reminds me of the quarrels between Jesus and those called Pharisees and Scribes concerning the obedience of the law - either literally or in the spirit. There are famous Jewish scholars like Abraham Geiger, Martin Buber, or Joseph Klausner having re-evaluated the importance of Jesus within the Jewish culture and religion.

An Open Letter Regarding the Teachings of R' DAVID KATZ and R' CHAIM CLORFENE about "GER" and "GER TOSHAV" R' David Katz and R' Chaim Clorfene have written and lectured on-line and in other forums. However, certain aspects of their teachings are contrary to accepted halakhah (Torah Law), in practice and understanding, as determined by the traditionally accepted Jewish Torah scholars and sages. Particularly erroneous are their claims about the status and meaning of the Hebrew term Ger Toshav (a term with clear halakhic definition). I am obligated to point out that R' David Katz has made incorrect and misleading attempts to claim support for his teachings from my work in Hebrew titled Sheva Mitzvot HaShem. In his claims he has included statements that are exactly the opposite of what I actually wrote and intended in that work, and in my work The Divine Code. Additionally, they have made false claims as to definitions of the Hebrew terms ger and Ger Tzedek, in places in the Written and Oral Torah texts. Their claims constitute a chiddush dat (an invented idea). Ger Tzedek only correctly refers to a person who became a Jew through undergoing the halakhic conversion process. The meaning of the term ger in Torah is always to be correctly understood in the context of how it is used, based on the mesorah (the textual meaning of the Hebrew Bible as transmitted in the Oral Tradition) and the accepted halakhah. It is my halakhic opinion that there are teachings and writings by R’ David Katz and R' Chaim Clorfene on these matters, directed to Non-Jews, that are misrepresentations of both the obligations and nature of the overall Torah-based Noahide Code, as well as misrepresentations of Torah l'Moshe Mi'Sinai (the Torah received by Moses from G-d at Mount Sinai). This especially applies in regard to their misguided advocacy and attempted justification for some Non-Jews to take on religious observance of certain Jewish ritual mitzvot, for example, restrictions on melacha that are commanded for Jews on Shabbat. I therefore strongly repudiate their creation and advocacy of the so-called "Ger" movement, by which they have seriously misled a number of well-meaning Non-Jews. And all the pharisaic commentaries from the end of the 2nd temple era that quote the verses in scriptures, are identical to our verses today, and archelogically too, the Masada Scrolls are as ancient as the dead sea scrolls and they're 99% identical to what we have now. And the building of the 2nd temple had prophets alive, Malachi, Zechariah, Chagai, Mordechai, Ester, Ezra, Daniel, and they ensured the Torah and prophets were exactly as they were meant to be. Pretty amazing for any intellectually honest person. However this poses a problem for muslims, since the tanach says repeatedly that the covenant with the jewish people is unconditional and eternal, and also according to Deut 13, muhammed is a false prophet, so the only thing left for muslims to validate their beliefs is to make a baseless accusation of a national mass conspiracy that the Jews (sinned against their own laws and) changed their torah and tanach from all around all jewish communities around the world. They push their argument with very empty claims such as "the seputgant is different", well, why would a greek christian biased translation be even close to our original perserved Hebrew text? Specially considering that the laws of perserving the Torah are very strict, even one letter missing and the scroll is invalid and buried. They make other claims like "the targums are different" well, yea, because every single targum without exception adds midrashic exegesis into their targums, onkelos, targum yerushalmi, targum yonatan, they are never literal and always encompass endless midrashic exegesis into the text, also they want to use the claim that the samaritans have a different pentateuch...well yes because they werent even jewish and the religious jews distanced themselves from the samaritans like the difference between west to east, they had no tradition at all about its preservation. All a muslim has is blind faith, and the choice is open for any genuine truth seeker to investigate the religions on their own.

There were numerous people in the first century who wrote thousands of documents about Jesus. The rabbi dismisses them by saying they were Christians. To that I say, so what? Why would any non-Christian historian be interested in Jesus at the time? Even decades after the life of Jesus, Christians made up considerably less than 1% of the Roman Empire. Why would historians at that time take note of Jesus? Later, as Christianity spread, yes, they took note and wrote about him. So the rabbi is being disingenuous. I can demonstrate this by placing the shoe on the other foot, so to speak. The rabbi often quotes Moses, and speaks of him as an historical figure. Yet outside of Scripture, there is essentially no archaeological or historical evidence of Moses's existence. In fact, there is considerably more historical evidence for the existence of Jesus than there is for the existence of Moses, yet I've never once heard the rabbi question the existence of Moses. Rabbi, a little fairness, please. Apply the same standards equally.

The number rises to 25,000 manuscripts or fragments when you include other languages. Many of those were written within a lifetime of the death of Jesus. Obviously, most of them are not in the New Testament, nor were they written by the men who wrote the New Testament.
