While Sengun's traditional stats may not show it, he has a top 10 player progression due to his impact on every aspect of the game, really every aspect. And he does this even though he's not even close to his standard as a finisher. Insane. Rockets has that guy.

Şengün is fighting incredibly both in defense and offense this season! However, this situation causes him to become even more worn out during the match. Moreover, this season the opponent team is aware that Şengün is the key player and is constantly trying to stop him with double or triple pressure. If Houston had good shooters, Şengün's job would be much easier. Since the shooters are unstable, the opposing defenses play by sinking inside, which makes things difficult for him. With a good shooter, Sengun's statistics can go much higher and he can make more Triple Doubles this season. Moreover, this man is only 22 years old. I think he will turn into a superstar in the next 2 seasons.

Solid discussion on the squad development. Backup Center and/or consistent Shooting for Jalen is the upgrade for our team. I believe the vets want more chips so they may take a paycut after our initial generous contracts. The team has tremendous potential.

Love this analysis. Great conversation. I'm with y'all in that I've said we should know who the team is after 20 games. And Jabari is right on track. I said when he came out that paolo would look better initially as an individual player, but Jabari would contribute more to winning.

If we end up top 4 in the West and he keeps us this effort, Al-P absolutely deserves MVP consideration. He's money on offense when we need him, but his defense has been legit incredible. Scary thing is I don't think he's playing his best on offense yet.

Does Sengun have a case to be in the MVP conversation? Absolutely, IF he can get back to his normal finishing levels. If that happens he might legit be a top 15-20 player in the NBA. His defensive impact has arguably been better then his offensive impact some games so far. So all he needs to do is get back to his normal finishing level. Now do I think he will win MVP probably not. Other guys are having some monster seasons right now, but def should be in the conversation.
@RobCortez04162 күн бұрын
It starts with the conversation though. NBA is political. It's like you need to be in the running before to get it in the future.

This team is good. But the main issue has always been Jalen green. He and fvv are the reason the rockets offense is so inconsistent. Because both of them shoot to much and are very poor efficiency players. Jalen green shows up once in a blue moon. And can shoot you out of alot of games too same with fvv. Fvv has never been a efficient player since he has been in the league. Both of them take to many shots and miss way to many. That's why in my personal opinion in order for this rockets team to be taken seriously. Fvv and Jalen green need to be traded for a more efficient player. This team is capped when u have 2 guys that shoot so many shots and miss way more than they make which is why the offense is widely inconsistent

If only Tari hadn't missed most of last season due to injury-we could've seen the Terror Twins in action then. This young team might've shaken up the league and gotten their first playoff experience. Instead, we had to sit through Jae’Sean Tate logging 16 minutes a game as Brooks' backup..
@morpheusdezion2 күн бұрын
As great as Al P is - & for the record, I agree with everyone in here about (1) his progression every year & (2) how much of a monster he can become - this team can’t get to the top of the league unless we have a dynamic wing that can help this team with CONSISTENT scoring, being (at least) a 3pt threat, & closing capabilities. That being said, being where we are at right now is a million times better than where we were under Silas. If you withstood those years & continued to watch the Rockets play, you are a true fan & soldier, bc that was some YMCA basketball posing as professional ball.

I know we want Bari to be the backup 5, but the team tried it at the beginning of last season and it was extremely bad. Bari was going to the bench after about 4 minutes in the 1st, would later come in for Sengun and then they would stagger throughout the game. The early bench run kept him from warming up at the start and then he also never got to share the court with Sengun, and his numbers reflected that.
@ROCKETSCHOPSHOP2 күн бұрын
Yea he needs to be groomed to be a true 5 and not just Bari at center .. his screening and footwork when he’s the 5 is poor and doesn’t help the team .

First 20 games takes: 1- We need a backup PG and C. 2- JG plays like an off-the-bench scorer. But we can’t replace him with Amen in the starting lineup due to politics and not impacting his trade value. Predictions: 1-Alpi will be an All Star this season. 2-Alpi will lead the team in at least 4 categories. PPG, RPG, APG, BPG, and maybe TruShooting %. 3- We will be in the playoffs but will be eliminated first round.
@RobCortez04162 күн бұрын
1 - Agree 2 - He won't lead in PPG or APG. That'll be Jalen and Fred. 3 - I think we win the first round and give some experienced team a scare in the second.
