Very useful, thanks for trying all the combinations and giving us your opinion 😊

Appreciate you going into details with this mode. No one else has on youtube that I could find. Its the one mode i'm most interested in and you've answered it well. It doesn't track aswell as follow and certainly not around corners.

Thank you so much. This is the real world test I've been waiting for. I hope you can test the drone tracking from the side as well as on descents and climbs. Also, I hope you get to test the drone with a tracker to see how it improves the performance especially on turns. Excellent and extremely useful review.

Thanks for the video. I’ve ordered the ski package but want to use the Hover for cycle touring. The dolly track is the mode I’m most interested in learning about. You answered a lot of questions. Cheers!

As a cyclist of X1 user, I have the same experience.

Great video! As a cyclist X1 owner waiting for the pro, this is very informative. Most of the dolly track clips I’ve seen seem unsable. Like a yo-yo. Here the ”high-far” is the only settting producing anything decent for some very short steady clips. Hope they will optimize the software. In all settings the camera could be angled a bit lower.

I agree about angling the camera lower

Great! THX!!! A comparison with NEOs direction track would be ultra vool

The original X1 would swing back and keep tracking you as if it was follow mode, that at least produces quite a nice clip. It makes sense that dolly track is slower, because the prop setup and aero is optimized for forward flight, this is in almost all drones.

Excellent video and detailed testing, thanks for sharing ! Low/Far wasn't that bad actually, it went "back and forth" less than Flat/Far I thought, maybe due to different speeds ?

Thanks for putting this awesome video together. A few questions. 1. Will you be test it with a beacon? 2. Once it swings to the back, will the drone swings back to the front and resume the dolly track mode again assume it can catch up to you?
@beastoncycle2 ай бұрын
It will be awhile Beto get the beacon. From what I’ve heard from users of the beacon it doesn’t improve the ability for tracking. The beacon will probably get better with firmware updates. No once the drone swings from the front to the back for tracking it will not go back to the front. You have to stop and start again with the drone in front of the user and set on Dolly Track to get it in front of the user again.

Thanks for the review!! I'm wondering if the drone could dolly track a skier, going around 25-30mph? Any thoughts?
@beastoncycle2 ай бұрын
It’s advertised as capable of tracking skiing, but the max speed is 26mph/42kph. At 25 to 30 mph it wouldn’t be able to keep up with a skier.
@GratefulFrog2 ай бұрын
@@beastoncycle thanks, I wonder if it could follow a skier?, I'm guessing that in follow mode it flies faster given the aerodynamics of the drone?
@emiand2 ай бұрын
Since a skier turns at speed back and forth, it seems the drone unfortunately will swing from dolly track to follow mode instead? 😢
