My roomate was a mail lady for usps for a little over a year during the pandemic, the money is good, great benefits, you feel like you are contributing to your community but 6 12-13 hour days are really soul crushing. People are quitting usps because they were burning out their work force, often days are longer than 13 hours. It great Jordan is able to make a good wage but it is sad that the only way to make good money for many people in this country is by overworking themselves to an unsustainable capacity.
@mojorisen742 жыл бұрын
That's the thing about having a union though and some of the newer carriers are not taking advantage of it. According to the agreement between USPS and the Union you can not be forced to work over 12 hours a day or 60 hours a week so if you work 12 hours a day for 5 days that would be 60 hours so you can take two days off, whatever your off day is that week plus Sunday. You can if you want to, but if you're starting to feel burnt out stop at 12 and stop at 60

We need more of these videos! And I agree, we’d like an interview with his father. I feel like this was one of the more honest stories. With that being said, I always wonder what the retirement savings look like when there are separate finances. Ie, I know he said he’ll be a millionaire well before retirement, but do they get together to make sure they are both putting money away for the long term? I’ll probably never know the answer to that question but that’s what I think of.

America needs more Black men and fathers like this. His father taught him, now he’ll teach his son, this is how you break the cycle.
