This video illustrates one (of many) things that sets Randy apart from other bee wranglers. Instead of jumping right into the cutout like most of us would've done, he takes a minute to discuss why this location is ideal for bees: brackish water nearby, a house with holes like swiss cheese, and previous hives in the same cavity. Then he starts setting up the site, with fan blade removal, plastic sheets on walls, etc. It's careful, methodical work. No hurrying around. 👍🏻

She thought I was touched in the head so I got out my 1 quart pan filled it a little over half way and put it on the stove and got it boiling came right outside to her window and hit the nest and not even one got away ! There were a few that weren't on the nest when the water hit the nest but once I knocked the nest down they disappeared and at the bottom of her window and on the ground must have been at least 60-80 dead yellow jackets ! Needless to say she was very Surprised And quite pleased ! And that's the end of that story !

I remember reading about how the "killer bee" (africanized honey bees) came into existence here in the Western Hemisphere in the first place, and also WHY someone was cross-breeding the much more docile European varieties of honeybee with the far more aggressive African honeybee. It was because African honeybees build much larger hives with more honey comb (and thus, much more honey can be harvested) than their European cousins. So someone tried to produce a cross breed that was still docile, yet more prolific and efficient at honey production. Well, they achieved one of those goals but the cross-bred bees escaped before the breeders could refine the breeding further, achieving both goals. Which gave us the Africanized Killer Honey Bee. But the story makes me curious. I can't help but wonder...were there any hives of cross-bred honeybees from that enclosure in South America that were both docile and had greatly increased honey production? Because it looks to me like you found some in that house...😉

I do guarantee my work if I'm the one doing all the repairs. If I'm leaving repairs to the property owner I can't guarantee more bees won't move it. On this one I figured we'd pull the ceiling down, vac a swarm and put the ceiling back in an hour or so. Took way longer than anticipated and I'd already told them no charge at that point. When we took the first hive out I told them there was a chance they'd catch another one because they had no intention of replacing the siding for a few weeks. They said they didn't have the money to replace siding at that time. That was why we didn't come back for weeks. They were waiting on rent payments to cover expenses.
@PrestonCovell3 жыл бұрын

This video only goes to reinforce my feelings of discontent and loathing towards Satellite Dish installers. Maybe I'm biased because as a young fella I worked for the cable company but twice in this video I saw where satellite dishes and cables were carelessly hung / strung in such a way that they could cause serious damage to the structure. On another note, it's because of a hive destruction that I became interested in beekeeping. At the time, we had a serious hive beneath some steps on the railroad in Texas. Rather than calling someone to remove the hive, the morons from Maint. of Way just sprayed them till everything was dead. I used that set of steps twice a day and the only thing I ever noticed was the busy traffic in and out of the area beneath the steps but some gumshoe decided it was a safety hazard. I was so mad and a bit frustrated that they wouldn't let someone else handle it.

Hey Rooster only had chance to watch 10 mins gonna watch the rest later. I just had a thought when said there was so many scouts looked like an active colony and they keep coming back etc . When you remove a hive and all the bees are safely out the way. Fill the cavities with cavity foam. Then any new bees will just find some where else to go. It works wonders after a removal as it seals up all the space inside. Bees hate the smell of the everbuild one You could charge extra for the extra service too. Hot hives are not for every one and you gptta have years of experience but I LOVE MY HOT HIVES! I have a number hot hives! They have more honey, keep their hives super clean, defend their hives from wax moths and mites including varoa and never lost a single colony through the winter. Easy to work with if handled carefully. You mess with the brood though oh boy hahaha
