This movie is Bosnian made during the time when Bosnia was part of Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia consisted of Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. Serbia dominated and oppressed the others in Yugoslavia so everyone left. Then Serbia started 4 wars in the 1990s when they attacked Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo. Serbia did massive wars crimes and genocide that took place in Bosnia yet Serbia uses a Bosnian movie for nationalistic Serb politics and Serb propaganda

The movie really had it all to achieve such success: the similar fight of the Serbian/Yugoslavian (embodied in the movie's character Vladimir Perić Valter who led the anti-German resistance in Sarajevo) and the Chinese people against their adversaries who occupied their land, the similar political system and good political relations, the moment it came to China (during times of great changes and when there weren't many foreign films available in China, making this one a completely unique experience) and of course the quality of the movie. The Chinese people at the time often watched it together in their villages or factories in a sort of a special opportunity, so it was naturally a memorable experience that also brought much inspiration.

@Tomislavr7
@Tomislavr7 9 ай бұрын
@@da1vinci1edi Don't spread fake information, please. Both chetniks and partisans were dominated by Serbs (the difference was that partisans aimed to unite all of the ethnic groups of Yugoslavia under communism). You can see the uprising map in Yugoslavia in 1941, and you will notice it's pretty much exclusively in regions populated by Serbs - you will recognize today's Serbia, Montenegro and Republika Srpska. "The CPY's Provincial Committee for Serbia made its decision to launch an armed uprising in Serbia and put together its Supreme Staff of the National Liberation Partisan Units of Yugoslavia to be chaired by Josip Broz Tito. On 4 July, a formal order to begin the uprising was issued. On 7 July, the Bela Crkva incident happened, which would later be considered the beginning of the uprising in Serbia. On 10 August 1941 in Stanulović, a mountain village, the Partisans formed the Kopaonik Partisan Detachment Headquarters. Their liberated area, consisting of nearby villages and called the "Miners Republic", was the first in Yugoslavia, and lasted 42 days. The resistance fighters formally joined the ranks of the Partisans later on. "
@Tomislavr7
@Tomislavr7 9 ай бұрын
So yeah, Serbs, including the soldier that is depicted in this movie, were a significant part of both movements, of which the partisans had the unifying idea while the chetniks had the nationalistic idea. The partisans prevailed on the battlefield, with Serbs and the other ethnic groups within their ranks, and it is how Yugoslavia was re-formed again, as Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Sadly, while the more noble idea of brotherhood and unity won, it didn't turn out that well fifty years later, when the civil wars broke out again after the cold war ended, and the winning side decided that Yugoslavia should no longer exist.

Yugoslavia was made atop the state of Serbia after it won the WW1. It was a project with great goals and ideas, but sadly, it proved with history that it was too big of a task for the territory and population to basically be tripled, while maintaining the stability of the state. Two times a big change happened (WW2 and at the end of cold war), it broke into civil war, and it was within less than a century of the creation of Yugoslavia. Because of that, I think it's appropriate that the state moves on by changing the name back to Serbia, at least until some far future where there will be less external pressures and hindrances to us south Slavic people being united.

How ironic is that a Bosnian-Yugoslavian movie is connecting Serbia and China, given the fact that fascist Serbs in the 90s fought against the cityof Sarajevo and its citizen Bosnian, Croats and Serbs alike, under the banner that the Valter himself fought against. I swear this is like twilight zone!

Nice try, but it was Bosnia that seceded from Yugoslavia, it was Bosniak paramilitants that began assaulting their Serb neighbors for rejecting the secession and wanting to preserve Yugoslavia. It was Bosniak snipers who shot inter-ethnic couples for daring to exist, and it was Bosniaks who then blamed the Serbs for it (Boško and Almira). It was the Bosniaks who exiled the Serbs of Sarajevo, and to claim that Serbs fought alongside them is downright evil. The Chinese are the inheritors of the Soviet Union, they’re the leaders of the free world and the anti-imperialist bloc, and the fact that they have a brotherhood with Serbia and don’t give a fuck about the pathetic collaborator enclave that is Bosnia is for a good reason.

Because Serbia is Yugoslavia’s only successor, on account of being the one republic that fought against its dissolution against all the other traitors. It’s actually very straightforward. Serbia=Yugoslavia. The rest of you imperialist puppets renounced all ties to it when you killed it. The partisans of all nationalities are Serbia’s legacy, because Serbia was the side that was defending their monuments, not shelling them and blowing them up.
