How a Prior Conviction Can RUIN Your Life

Why is it that our justice system won’t let us actually take our cases the trial without a penalty I had a case that said I was gonna get seven years in prison if I took it to trial and lost or I can take a year in county jail which was only six months if I plead guilty

It's not just prior convictions.. but also prior charges that are later dismissed or that the defendant is acquitted of.. Getting news papers to retract news articles or just modifying their article can be impossible without the ability to hire a competent attorney due to having no real work anymore because potential employers can read said news articles when checking up on applicants. Saw it happen first hand to a relative.
