When the 1st lady said that getting sober isn't the problem, its staying sober, I honestly felt that. I too struggle with alcohol addiction. I had to also go to detox and rehab for almost 45 days to help treat myself. As of today, I'm 73 days sober. It's a real battle, and I hope that she eventually gets the help she needs.

I am so glad you had the self awareness/honesty to get treatment. I hope you never drink again, but if you do, just stop again, get treatment again. It was probably 2am and I was alone on the highway and I drove really slow and it was dang hard trying to stay between the lines. I was praying to get home safe. I was going so slow I would have been a target if there had been a police car on the highway that night. I asked God to help me stay away and alert enough to get home and I would never do that again. I had a little girl home with my sister waiting for me and I didn’t have the money for jail, high insurance and was already living with her so I had nothing much. I made it home without harming myself or anyone else thankfully and I never did that again! I never realized how hard it would be to stay alert after drinking a few. That was actually very scary. Same way with the police. There are some amazing police out there, who deserve more credit than they get. Which is why it's very important we take those precautions, punish the bad apples, and don't let genuinely corrupt, ego-tripping cops get away with wrong-doing, otherwise, they will ruin the trust and relationship between good cops and the public. @@mariella2884 thanks. He was very resistant to treatment. He said he couldn't not work for the 4 month rehab process. I pointed out that he hadn't been able to work without treatment. I gave him the forms that would enable him to ban himself from buying takeaway alcohol for 3 months, 6 months, 12 months or indefinitely (it's called the Banned Drinker Register), I doubt he will do that. Anyway, he's out of my life now. It's been clean and quiet here now.

as a person also in recovery, "STAYING sober" is the hardest part... recovery isn't linear...and trust me when i say, we we slip up, we kick ourselves more than anyone else could. the shame is what keeps us silent and drives us deeper into it. she sounds like she has a decent support system, hope she's able to get therapy to help with her ptsd :( trauma is no joke, and we do whatever we can to numb the pain.

I agree 100%. I got dependent on benzos after witnessing my brother passed suddenly. I have flashbacks daily and made my already severe anxiety almost unbearable. I went through withdrawals a couple times. That in and of itself was traumatic. I tapered off of them (I never abused but got physically dependent) 2 months ago after being on them for 4 years 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 I get the urge for them pretty strong from time to time but living tethered to them because of the withdrawal was no way to live. We got this. You got this. I am proud of you ❤

11:46 Blah, blah, blah, husband attacked me, I still have dreams about it and I’m going into PTSD Mode. WHAT?!?! Now I have heard it all. As a Veteran with multiple TBIs and PTSD, and I also have friends with PTSD. Collectively we know that there are certain triggers that can set off an “episode”. But this lady can predict the future and know in advance that she’s going into “PTSD Mode” like a Transformer or something. That’s like saying that you know when you’re going to have an Epileptic Seizure, an Anxiety/Panic Attack, etc. The very idea that you can claim calmly and rationally of an impending mental meltdown is; A. Your mental self-awareness is impressive and leaves many of us (in the real world), envious that we do not have the same early warning system that you do…or B. The other possibility is that you are bat-shit crazy and are so full of shit that it oozes from every orafice and pore in your body. I’m entering PTSD Mode, like you’re running a computer program. Give me a fucking break. Goddamn idiots, it takes away from the legitimate sufferers just so you can have something to use as a “Get out of Jail Free Card” They make me sick…literally sick to my stomache. Sorry for the rant. Cheers. 🇨🇦

Can we all agree that this cop not only was more than reasonable, but positively reinforcing the (few) things the lady had done right. Being a jersey would have just made her problem worse. *edit* My apologies to the Jersey folks, I meant to type "jerk" and autocorrect burned me.

14:40 was so real and sincere of a comment. She said "Getting sober isn't the problem. Staying sober is." I was a "fun drunk" but a sloppy drunk. I got sober in 2009 and I am so grateful I stayed sober! NOT drinking was probably one of the hardest things ever in my life. Here I am sitting and not buzzed, hung over, tipsy, puking or passed out! One day at a time, keep going back cause it definitely works if you work it! I paid it forward by working in treatment for over 5 years. I can go months and months without even a thought of drinking.

As of 11:37 Wow... the cop talking to the Karen in the car during the first incident... what a super nice, empathetic guy. He didn't have to be anything like that, but was. That cop is awesome. First Karen has no idea how good she had it because of him. You see a lot of these Police cam vids around, but this guy stood out. Professional, supportive, courteous without being slimy, condescending or changing his stance but stead-fast without being forceful/or aggressive. Much respect.

The last cop in that first video is actually the kind of cop we need a hell of a lot more of. While most people watching these videos have zero sympathy for the people who end up in these scenarios, we have to constantly remind ourselves that no one CHOOSES this. Wouldn't you prefer to be the person who says something that changes a life, instead of the person who just mocks and ridicules?
