Most of the high carbohydrate food have starches. Once such special starch is Resistant Starches. Resistant starch can bypass your digestive tract. Resistant Starch goes through your stomach & small intestine undigested.
In Large intestine/ colon it ferments & feeds your friendly gut bacteria. When bacteria digest resistant starches, they form several compounds, mainly butyrate that help boost your gut health, digestion and prevents from constipation.
